I’ve just read on BBC news that the family have instructed a different lawyer, they’ve also voiced their concern for the injured police personnel.

Mother tells her sons she has been verbally abused on the plane.
Mother meets sons in Starbucks where she points out the man who abused her.
The sons threaten the man.
Family walk to the parking ticket machine.
At the same time the abuser has called the police and given a description of the sons and their mother.
We all know what happened next.

I’ve been travelling all day but had Sky News on before we left Why on earth were they discussing what Lee Anderson had said? Why do Reform seem to be asked their opinion about everything. I don’t recall other minority parties being asked their opinion on everything on what seems to be a daily basis. Andy Burningham seemed quite irritated by it ( and so he should be).

Why would any intelligent individual attack an armed police officer?

If this had happened in USA or mainland Europe they would in all probability have been shot and killed…

Greater Manchester Police are asking for information and witness saying:

^The first incident is an altercation between passengers from Qatar Airways flight QR023, which arrived at 7.20pm. The altercation may have taken place during the flight or afterwards in the T2 baggage hall. ^

The BBC said that the initial incident began on the plane because the mother was subjected to racial abuse.

Sadly this happens frequently. Something not adding up here.

Why did these two brothers attack the police rather than co-operate. We are told 4 men were arrested which suggests some kind of fracas before they left for the car park. It’s a strange way to ‘protect’ your mother

I haven't seen any report of injuries on the two men concerned.

Would they not have had some more visible signs?

As for sides, why not broaden out the focus, and as why did they not heed the Police when first asked?

It wasn’t just the man in blue. His brother was just as bad but he was attacking a male officer who eventually tasered him and he fell back onto a bench. Boy blue was laying into two females and when they were dealt with he launched himself onto the officer being attacked by his brother and gets him in a choke hold. He gets tasered and falls to the ground taking the male officer with him. That same male officer that’s been attacked by both brothers gets up and kicks him.

It’s very important to realise what you’re seeing.

I believe one of the police officers was armed and they did not want these men getting hold of the gun

Not a problem. Maybe the news I heard got it wrong but that’s the only reason I thought it was mainly Pakistani passengers.

Either way what happened on the plane has obviously spilled onto the ground and there’s been an incident and this has resulted in the police getting involved.

This is in no way the fault of the police as some seem to be implying.

We've always had to transit there.

I have watched the latest video and I see two extremely violent young men, one resisting arrest and one attempting to prevent an arrest. Neither attempted to flee, both immediately violently attacked the police attempting to execute a lawful arrest.
I hope that the authority of the police is upheld.

The flight was Qatar Airways flight QR023 from Doha to Manchester.

There’s a lot of speculation about what happened. People cooped up in the tight space of an airplance cabin for hours on end. Tempers fray. It sounds like whatever happened onboard continued/spilled to the arrivals area but if it were that serious how did the family make it as far as the car park ticketing area before the police involvement we see on the videos?

As AB says, let the authorities do their jobs now. Anderson and Tice are stoking the fire and need to butt out.

Time for the Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards to step in.

Family and we have been on Qatar Airways flights to and from Doha and never encountered any trouble; why on earth someone would be subjected to racial abuse on an international flight like, with many nationalities travelling together, is bemusing.

Certainly the flight crew would or should have dealt with it promptly.
