Am I the only who thinks it is a bit odd that Amanda waited till now to make a complaint to strictly about Giovanni,
Oh wait she is on a promotion tour about her new play “when it happens to you” about a woman feeling she had to speak out about an incident 😙

There's already a thread about this.

Ilovecheese Thu 25-Jul-24 20:14:58

Yes, there is another thread, I think that one does a bit of victim blaming as well.

I really don't know what to think about this. I always liked Giovanni but now I don't know .... there are two sides to (almost) every story.

I just think it's funny that everything the absolutely deranged Sherlock fans said about her turned out to be right.

Ruthiek you are repeating what you said on a thread 4 days
ago

ruthiek Mon 29-Jul-24 14:05:44

I moved it to the thread as was requested to do

Anniebach Mon 29-Jul-24 14:17:37

Who requested a moderator ? the other thread is open,

ruthiek Mon 29-Jul-24 18:50:34

It’s getting beyond a joke now I don’t think I will comment anymore

eazybee Mon 29-Jul-24 19:39:35

I didn't know she was in a play and doing a promotional tour, so thank you, Ruthiek for putting it, and her, in perspective.
Of course she should have reported it immediately and it could have been dealt with swiftly, but that is not what she wants; much better the poison drip of innuendo amd more publicity that way.

ruthiek Mon 29-Jul-24 19:56:30

You speak such sense eazybee she does women a disservice

You are doing women a disservice and possibly much harm

valdali Mon 29-Jul-24 20:38:10

It's no odder than the videoer waiting till the week before the Olympics to call out Charlotte Dujardin?

ruthiek Mon 29-Jul-24 22:27:30

In what way ? I have an opinion and I truly believe this is more about her new play , why did she wait so long to come out , after seeing her interview I believe she needs help , she says has mr tal health issues , I have too and there is no way I could put myself in that sort of position as I know I would react to hard core teaching

eazybee Tue 30-Jul-24 08:02:45

You are doing women a disservice and possibly much harm.

No. Making unsubstantiated allegations via social media some time after alleged incidents does far more harm. There are facilities in place to make complaints; I believe Abbington began criticizing her teacher on day 3, so not exactly time for a relationship to develop; she made complaints about him to the BBC who did not, apparently, consider them justified so she left, but refused to give reasons. This followed by the drip of innuendo; very difficult to refute.
That is the the sort of behaviour that gives women a bad name; certainly not professional. A concentrated attempt to wreck the career of a fellow professional, albeit one considerably more talented. Dance is a very hard taskmaster and success is hard won.

Galaxy Tue 30-Jul-24 08:32:12

So she used the facilities to make a complaint then but that was also the wrong thing to do?

Anniebach Tue 30-Jul-24 09:11:34

I know nothing of her, I have learned she is allegedly mentally ill, wanted to take her life when her marriage ended, allegedly.
She should have accepted the dance man was a very hard task
master, he has called her ‘the mad woman’ and he has proof that he did not abuse her.

Callistemon213 Tue 30-Jul-24 09:21:50

Of course he does.

Victim blaming, it's how abusers work.

ruthiek Tue 30-Jul-24 10:17:45

My apologies I thought you were criticising me
