I am not a Tory but I still think it is a shame that Penny Mordaunt was not in the running.

Casdon Penny Mourdant has been my preferred leader for several years.

I also rather like/d Johnny Mercer.

I think you’re right. Penny Mordaunt would have been the obvious choice if she had retained her seat. The current process might provide an interim leader rather than the person who will lead the Tories into the next general election.

Have never supported the Tories but there has to be a strong opposition in a democracy, however, any of the above contenders does not inspire me, where are the centre right Tories who should guide the party back to its centre right moorings, at least back in the day there were real statesmen and women who behaved like grown ups. I think the Tories will be a long time in the wilderness,

It’s an interesting result, in that the two with the greatest number of votes are both on the right, but Priti Patel apparently hasn’t endorsed another candidate - wonder who her supporters will choose next week?

The winner will be the worst of a pathetic bunch.
