I’m not surprised, he’s always, from TV anyway, seemed slightly ‘off’ to me

Ilovedogs22 Mon 23-Sept-24 18:17:09

Well I'll take that Oreo & bask in the sunlight of glorious jest! Thank you for your rallying cry, some people here have no sense of humour alas.! 😎😎😎😎😬😬😬😬😬😬😊

Oreo Mon 23-Sept-24 15:11:15

Ignore the shade!🌞😃

Ilovedogs22 Mon 23-Sept-24 15:05:16

Yes Oreo, thank you l was was clearly joking regarding my Jay Blades comment.......(eyegate!) It was something muttered many moons ago by my grandparents & the like, I was just being daft, certainly not malious in any way. Quite shocked by the shade being chucked my way quite frankly. 😳

I dislike the kangaroo courts beloved by forums.

Oreo Mon 23-Sept-24 12:55:35

It was surely obvious that Ilovedogs was joking, well it was to me anyway.😄

Ilovedogs What a silly thing to say, good job we dont have the death penalty when people think like that.

Oh rafichagran, I was only being silly, as it's what the grandmother's always used to say about the chaps they thought we're probably wrong un's. 🤔

A very good point from GrannyGravy.

Ilovedogs22 Sun 22-Sept-24 15:16:55

Oh Aldom, I was just being daft no malice at all intended.

Do some people go round looking at babies and working out their character based on how close their eyes are??????? Weird judgement to make isn't it? hmm

BlueBelle

For crying out loud *Ilovedogs’ his eyes too close together !! What planet are you living on

Oh I don't mean to laugh but I've heard this said many times about people.

"Don't trust them, their eyes are too close together" grin

If found guilty can his wife sue him ?

I don’t know, but she can certainly divorce him and go after his earnings, assets etc to help her start again.

Cossy Mon 16-Sept-24 09:55:33

Goodness! I do not know the man at all, not personally, I do know he’s had a bit of a hard life initially, I do know he publicly admitted he was virtually illiterate and then took steps to change this and I know he’s done a lot for disadvantaged people.

In my book, “innocent until proven guilty” still stands.

If he is found guilty then I hope they punish him and that his wife manages to make a fresh start.

Anniebach Mon 16-Sept-24 09:43:04

Do you think the same of Judi Dench Luckygirl ?

Luckygirl3 Mon 16-Sept-24 09:39:28

He is indeed innocent until proven guilty as we all are -- but he was someone I could not warm to, and I found the whole concept of his friendship with Judi Dench very strange - it almost felt like a publicity stunt.

The issue of coercive control is society's business.

When the facts are known. At the moment it is all speculation, most of it unpleasant.

denbylover Mon 16-Sept-24 07:43:21

And I still say it’s no-ones business outside of the 2 people involved. As Rafichagran has said there has been no trial as yet. Let the Courts decide, they presumably have the facts, we don’t. At the moment it appears as a ‘he said, she said’.

This is attracting attention purely as one partner appears on television. If it were Joe Bloggs vs Jane Bloggs would there be this level of interest? I doubt it.

rafichagran Mon 16-Sept-24 07:30:41

He has not had his trial, we should not have trial by media.

Galaxy Mon 16-Sept-24 06:49:01

I disagree, these are exactly the comments were made about Hugh Edwards. The issue of coercive control is society's business.

Oh so it's not ok to comment on the male but it's absolutely fine to say his wife is somehow to blame.

I don’t think anyone outside the couple involved has any cause to blame either partner, primarily as it’s nobody else’s business.

Knitting at the foot of the guillotine comes to mind on reading certain shockingly judgemental comments on this thread.

Can’t help but agree…sadly
