Did Trump invite Farage to sit at the top table at his coronation bash?

Was Trump crowned? I missed that. I know he thinks he’s a king, but …

Didn’t people have to pay vast amounts of money to be seen to be close to Trump at some events eg Zuckerberg ( sp)?

Try and find Farage....

It’s a relief our government ministers are capable of being “absolutely two faced’. Honestly - what a point of view

And it’s my point of view, and I’m quite happy with it.
Your opinion matters Little to me….🤓

There really is no comparison between changing ‘a job’ when you dislike your boss and flouncing off as foreign secretary rather than attempt to work constructively with a democratically elected Potus. No matter how much you disagree politically

After what he said about Trump he is absolutely two-faced and I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him…

So you think every person who has an obnoxious person to deal with among their contacts should resign - whatever the job and whatever depends on that job? Customer Service departments would have a very rapid turnover of staff, and there would be no applicants for jobs as prison officers with murderers and felons in their charge, nurses looking after people with mental health problems, foster parents with traumatised and difficult children.

Just watched David Lammy completely backtracking on what he said about Trump previously calling him all sorts of names, now he’s trying to cozy up…. Unbelievable 🙄

Well, his vice President once described him as a Nazi didn’t he?

I’m not talking about his vice president…

There’s nothing unbelievable about it, his opinion of Trump hasn’t changed I’m sure, but he has to work with him. If you hated your boss or a colleague you would still have to maintain a veneer of civility at work. Thats just reality.

If I hated my boss, I would not be working for them….

I’m rather tired of these people who think their opinion is so important who seem to get a lot of publicity and airtime. Tim Martin (Sir) has been a bit quiet recently. Maybe basking in the glory of how successful his beloved Brexit has been hmm?

Exactly Casdon - our government will work as constructively as possible with Trump. What on earth would you want them to do Shinemae

There's a lead article in today's Times about what the UK Diplomatic service in Washington has been doing in preparation for Trump's presidency. Diplomacy isn't a "lost art" it just generally goes on behind the scenes.

Farage is not in a position to make an ally of the US, he's not in government. I have no problem with whichever party is in government making an ally of the US even if Trump is POTUS, it's called diplomacy.

Whatever 😂

I still wish Gransnet had a like button. If you have the time to watch or one of your staff, Charlie, I love all your work.

ronib Sun 19-Jan-25 21:02:08

Diplomacy seems something of a lost art? I wouldn’t hold out too much hope with Lammy and Darren Jones in this government.
Trump doesn’t play by the rules though does he?
