Well, what has he done so far?
Added to the mysterious £22 billion black hole that The Treasury won't allow to be investigated.
Very large pay rises to train drivers and junior doctors, being £9 billion of the £22 billion hole.
Removed the winter fuel Allowance from pensioners.
Set up the national wealth fund . Which is?
Set up GB Energy? To be funded by energy bill increases.
Set up new planning framework to 'encourage swifter construction of essential national infrastructure and more homebuilding' that is , remove essential planning restrictions and allow ugly homes to be built on green belt.
Started recruitment of additional police officers and teachers.
Really?
Meanwhile, Starmer and his team have made themselves contemptible because of their greed for 'gifts' and their lies about their true purpose.

Labour’s party conference in Liverpool
(103 Posts)It ends tomorrow.
Rachel Reeves is just standing up now (noon) to deliver her speech.
There was ‘booing’ from the audience earlier about non discussion of the WFA.
Did they? Blimey.
No, they didn’t Lisaangel110, they have always been there. See page 6 of this paper from the Resolution Foundation.

Actually she delivered some good suggestions! Heartening to hear the end of zero hours contracts.
Wish she’d allow the personal allowance to be increased though in the Budget. But she won’t. Fiscal drag means many of us pensioners now start paying tax on their pensions.
Labour brought in the zero hours contracts to start with.
After a while Rachel's nasal London drone begins to grind one's gears, sorry Rachel but I'm all for investigating the crooks who defrauded the country during the time of Covid. I only hope some of those ill gained assets can be recovered.

😂
Going well? Unfortunately not.
It depends what you measure - public opinion and popularity, or decisions made and actions taken.

I happened to be in the room when my husband had her on the radio, we both agreed she was well worth listening to and agreed with many of her comments, I wish I could remember them all.
I did too, I hope someone can dig out a summary instead of the oh so easy sniping.
I'm also glad that they are investigating those who made so much out of the £600.000.000 Covid contracts
"“Billions of pounds of public money handed out to friends and donors of the Conservative party. Billions more defrauded from the taxpayer.
“On entering government, we found £674m of [personal protection equipment] PPE contracts in dispute, where we inherited a recommendation from the previous government that contract recovery should be waived.
“So we are delivering on our commitment to appoint a Covid corruption commissioner. It could not be more urgent. And I have put a block on any contract being abandoned or waived until it has been independently assessed by the Covid commissioner.”
One of those understood to have been flagged by Labour is a contract handed to a cannabis research company for £33m worth of personal protective equipment."
😂
Going well? Unfortunately not.
Actually eazybee when you look at what’s been achieved in two months it is going well. There’s a lot of noise around the edges, but the actual business of government is happening despite that. Lots of people, including lots of Gransnetters have their eyes on the small balls not the big ones, which is their choice of course.
Not going well, is it.

Stopping zero hour contracts south's greatto those who don't understand many people who prefer this.
What about the pilots who are on zero hours? Quite a few of them.
I doubt she'll get any month back from the PPE contracts. And how much will that actually cost?
She's trying to sound like Margaret Thatcher but not managing it.
She said "exploitative " zero hours contracts, not all zero hours contracts.
My worry is that people will still have to sign up to them in order to secure a job, whether they want to or not.

Just listening to Sharon Graham, General Secretary of Unite she's far more impressive than either Starmer or Reeves as to being in tune with the general mood, incredulous about the cuts to the WFA. She mooted there's a general embarrassment from Labour oarty supporters, not only about that but donor freebies which just come across as
shadey given the preamble rhetoric on the run up to the election regarding transparency and honesty.
Glad to hear it.
Thing is just because Labour are in power and Starmer is PM that doesn’t mean that the whole party, most importantly Union representatives, shouldn’t call them out. That is how a party should run the country, with those within it representing the interests of those opposed to certain decisions, or behaviour at the top. Long may it continue. As someone who has supported Labour for a lifetime I can see plenty to criticise and plenty to feel optimistic about. Our government are not saints and Starmer far from a Messiah.
Better than the presidential style rule of Boris who apparently could do no wrong despite doing everything wrong.

*Sounds great*! How many times do I tell myself to check before send
Why is there no edit button? This morning sent an unchecked response subjected to auto correct and it sounded completely incoherent.

Her voice is strangely like Thatcher’s. Think she is making a pretty good fist of it, of course she is talking to the converted at the conference and only time will tell if she can get funds back from mismanagement of the Covid outbreak with Tory chums handed lucrative contracts for doing nothing or deliberately swindling the public - we conveniently forget the damage they did, and if with Rayner she can rip up planning restrictions that mean affordable housing is available to the millions who need it. Also VAT on private school fees should make a difference to state schools presently struggling.
But will see.
Her delivery is impressive. No looking down at notes or an autocue.

Tax payers money to be spend wisely she says spend some on getting train travel safe get some weekend drivers before a baby is crushed to death
She hasn't even showed sadness for all the dying due to the sales of arms
Fabulous brave blond haired guy removed from Rachel Reeves speech
Objecting to sales of arms to Israel She says hers is a caring party
Kid standing up “I voted for change”. He’s being manhandled by security out of the room.
RR: “This is NOT a party of protest”.
