How ironic - some HMRC staff essentially committing fraud.

Some of us have been warning from the start, that he was dangerous, very dangerous. We were called 'antisemites' and worse.

Correction - I think it would firstly be good to show regret over such a terrible loss of civilian life
I think it would be good to firstly good to show regret over such a terrible loss of civilian life, this isn't a one way street, just as we all mourn the loss of Israeli lives on Oct 7th, can we please note the deaths of at least 35 children and nearly 500 adults in Beirut.
And can we please establish that other civilian people also have the right to self defence when an aggressor bombs their country.
You also do know that Hezbollah started firing rockets into Israel the day after the massacre and just about every day since, for a year!

You don’t know where Hezbollah are! You think they aren’t in Beirut? They’re everywhere. There’s been pro Palestine bias all the time from the BBC, Sky News is a better more unbiased account.Pro Palestine marchers took over the centre of London a week after the awful massacre of Israeli families and yet there they were marching in London wearing hamas tokens and scarves and shouting the odds. This was allowed by the Mayor to go on and on and on, totally a disgrace. They didn’t allow any marches in France, much more sensible there.
As for the UN, many there were stony faced to Israel last year even when what hamas did in Israel was detailed to them, another total disgrace.

The video footage coming out of Gaza was Al Jazzers because there were no other film crews there, many of the “aid workers” were Hamas, including some that took part in the October massacre.
Propaganda is the only weapon Hamas ever had they were totally ineffective fighting.
I suggest you watch the news that you call so biased.
Massive air strikes on Beirut. 500 killed, 1,800 injured, 35 are children, many bodies have not yet been recovered.
Hard to call this biased. Israel are not denying it.
And countless people walked out of the UN whilst Netanyahu was making a speech.
Residential parts of Beirut were hit. Not Southern Lebanon where Hezbollah are.
Please tell me how this can happen and Israel can say is in self defence, don’t Lebanese people have the right to self defence.

The BBC most definitely don't parrot Al Jazerra. I check I player news on and off during the week. Feel free to quote one that does?
They make absolutely clear in any Gaza report what the source is if and when they report, and I have never known them quote Al Jazerra.
They will use images from reputable aid workers ditto quotes. If they quote a number injured/dead they say for example " Hamas reports X but.....They also quote sources if from Israel, there is good coverage of Netanyahu, and of UN views.
I have found a good way to get info is to look at the Israeli press, the Jerusalem Post and for alternative view (think Guardian) Haaretz. CNN also have bits and pieces and give an idea of how much money/aid/arms is being given to Israel, and opinion pieces from different Jewish POV which we dont see in the UK so much..
If you go into U tube you can get coverage for example direct from IDF web cams, both officially sanctioned and "home made"

@David I don’t think many people in the UK watch Al Jazeera, and maybe the fact that so many of their journalists have now been killed in Gaza has coloured their reporting.
Perhaps the reason news programmes are not pro Israel is because they can see what is happening and what is to come. In the aftermath of the Oct 7th attacks the press were definitely pro Israel which is totally right. But as time went on it became harder and harder for the media and western politicians, even Biden, to put a pro Israel spin on things.
As are most of us.
Perhaps that isn’t bias, perhaps it is the reality of the situation, and btw many Jewish communities and leading academics are also no longer pro Israel. In NY thousands of Jewish people marched against Israeli war crimes.
It’s reported by Al Jazerra and repeated parrot fashion by everyone else including BBC

I think the reporting has been biased but not pro-Israel.
Biased for sure Al Jazzera has done an excellent job for Hamas, repeat the propaganda often enough it becomes fact in many minds.
In the meantime there is a war in Sudan where 4 times as many have died hardly gets a mention, several other wars where nobody cares.
@pascal,
The actual reality of the situation on the ground doesn’t overly bother too many cheering the IDF on.
Is like when Israel told countless Palestinians they would be safe in the South of Gaza then bombed the South.
It is concerning.

If international efforts fail to stop the slaughter and more and more people flee the region biglouis where do you think they are going to go? Like it or not, we are all affected by what happens in the wider world and have to take part in it.
The Lebanese have had plenty of notice that likely it will be a ground invasion so they can move north so it should be mainly Hezbollah in the south, that won’t deter Israel, just like Gaza they will flatten wherever there is resistance.
They think they have got Hezbollah on the run, they wont stop now, we will see if they are right!.
The thing is David that there are 1.5 million Syrians in Lebanon and it is a tiny country already suffering from economic disasters and only being propped up by money from Iran.. There is nowhere in the north that can sustain these Lebanese people if they flee.. They really have nowhere to go..

Replying to Lizziedrip: Should Israel not be able to defend herself then? All I see on the news is Israeli bombings - never the effects of the hundreds of rockets fired by Hezbollah into Israel. Western media is so anti-Israel, and anti-Semitic it is beyond unreal. The planting of explosives in pagers and mobiles was a master stroke by Israel - why should Hezbollah (under the direction of Iran) just be allowed to continue to bomb and kill Israelis? Have you no compassion for the victims of the aggression of Hamas and Hezbollah? Why is it always the fault of Israel?
Meddijess - you only have to read some of the posts on this thread and a similar one to answer your last question.
I find the undertones in some posts very unsettling.
I think the reporting has been biased but not pro-Israel.
We can blame Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah all we like, and I like to blame them as much as the next person. But if we ignore Israel’s part in this, now and historically, we are making a huge mistake. Undoubtedly Israel has grabbed land from Palestinians for decades, forced them to live in third world conditions in Gaza, and attacked them countless times. There are numerous occasions when atrocities have occurred, I cite again Sabra and Shatila refugee camp in the 1980s, where between 3,000 and 6,000 refugees, mainly Palestinian were slaughtered by a Christian militia with IDF support. This can be googled to confirm it.’
Indeed Israel had broken more international laws than any other country long before Oct 7th. And countless western journalists and aid workers have been killed before Oct 7th.
Of course we can just continue to believe that Israel are in no way to blame but the words ostrich, head, and in the sand, spring to mind.

Not him - his opponents will though . Especially with all the support they are getting worldwide and the stupid people marching around on their behalf.
I do not think it will be Netanyahu who takes us down
I am far more concerned with the Ayatollah’s in Iran, President Putin and the worse case scenario of Donald Trump being POTUS once more.
The BBC is full on reporting what happened nearly a year ago
www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/c0qznj3l5ypo
full on video etc.
At the end of the report they say "Another BBC Storyville, Life and Death in Gaza, will be broadcast in October".
I suggest we watch them both. I disagree about the biased reporting btw, I think its a POV issue.

We are already over involved in foreign wars with bloody Ukraine and their whinging for more and more weapons. We need to keep well out of this and let the various parties fight it out. We are no longer a colonial power.

There are 50.000 dead Palestinians now...
But they are Palestinians. They have no currency. Even when the figure reaches 1 million I doubt it will make any difference.
😔
Everything is in the hands of Hamas they could admit defeat today, their only weapon is propaganda and they don’t care how many civilians suffer and die.

Yes I agree David the key is Iran.. whilst they continue to back Hezbollah we will have 5 million Lebanese and 1.5 Syrian refugees with no way of escape except by sea and which country will take them in.. nowhere I suspect... another tragedy waiting to happen..
The key to peace in the Middle East is Iran, they fund and indoctrinate all the terrorist organizations, the only way we are going to have peace is regime came in Iran, that is not likely.
Their aim is Islamic fundamentalist rule of the whole region, expanding into Africa and anywhere else they can, they don’t want or need a major war the extremist groups will do the fighting for them. Deaths don’t matter to them, they are all martyrs to the cause, that have been indoctrinated they will enter paradise.
Currently they are supplying weapons to Russia to use in Ukraine, I worry about the technology Iran is getting in return.
