Apologies if there's a thread about the disaster happening right now in North Carolina.
Hurricane Helene has caused total devastation. It's heartbreaking. Whole villages wiped out. Hundreds of people missing. Many deaths. This area isn't usually affected by the hurricanes.
I saw a minute long section on the BBC news but that's it. Obviously with the middle east situation there is more emphasis on that but this really is catastrophic.
The best place to find info on this is Tiktok. People have made clips of the devastation. They have nothing, no electricity, no food, hospitals can't sterilise, desperate people looking for friends and relatives.
Apparently USA press and government don't seem to be doing much either. Very little content in the media and Biden says there's no more help for these people.
