Oh dear, whatever next!

It has been deluging, hasn't it Dickens, but watching the programme last night about the 1968 floods in Chew Stoke, Pensford and surrounding areas in Somerset made me thankful I live up a hill, although we find the hill difficult to manage these days.

To add to the awfulness and misery for those affected is the 'grand-daddy' of all conspiracy theories doing the rounds.

Georgia Republican, Marjorie Taylor Greene, is suggesting that they (Democrats) can "control the weather" and are deliberately targeting Republican communities with the hurricanes. She is actually insisting that the 'Deep State' is steering the storms where they can do the most damage.

If people are willing to believe that, it won't be difficult to convince them - should KH win by a narrow majority - that the the election was stolen - again.

I've been complaining about the amount of rain here in Gloucestershire - but compared to the viscous storms which threaten death and destruction over there - I'm going to stop mithering and thank my lucky stars that the only event I have to worry about is taking the bins out and getting soaked in the process.

I do hope everyone can manage to leave before this Hurricane hits.

It must be so frightening. We get bushfires some years and have to evacuate but nothing on such a scale.

Cyclones can be devastating, though, especially Category 5 with winds of up to 300 kph. People were evacuated from the hospital in Cairns but luckily it did pass further south.

Cyclone Tracy was a Category 4 but caused widespread devastation and the loss of at least 65 lives.

I read the chilling advice given to people "Leave or you will die"

Here’s hoping and praying it may weaken and not create the devastation predicted! It must be really terrifying to live near there.
