This is very sad, one person has died and 15 are injured. The crash happened yesterday evening but I didn't hear anything on the late news.
The crash happened near the village of Llanbrynmair, in Powys.
It is reported that one train just slid downhill although the driver was trying to stop it.

Very sad. I was a passenger in the Purley train crash in March 1989. A father of 8 who was going to London with his wife for his birthday treat was killed along with 4 other unfortunate people. It was driver error responsible for the crash. The Littlehampton express went through 2 red lights before crashing into my train which was 10 minutes late coming out of Purley station. The driver had already killed a rail construction worker by ignoring a red light some time before but the rail company allowed him to carry on driving passenger trains. He was jailed but it didn't bring back those poor people who lost their lives through a completely avoidable accident.

Very sad and the trauma of it must stay with you too.

In this case I think it looks like it may have been a brake failure and passengers were warned.
It was (mercifully) very low speed.

Must have been horrific for those onboard.

I hope the injured recover from their injuries quickly and passengers get any emotional help needed.

RIP 💐 for the man who lost his life.

And I hope the drivers have proper counselling and support too.
