Celebrity Endorsements and Politics

If you don't vote the right way, it makes me sad and angry and it's like a hate crime which makes me want to leave the country and you don't want that"

Am I alone in thinking the vast majority of celebrity endorsements are counter productive. Why would anyone take any notice of the rich and famous just because they have a profile for something or other. They may well have a specific talent so what! The famous, some empty vessels turn up at political rallies wearing clothes that cost more than what the average person earns in a year and expect they will garner support, just why?

In the aftermath of Trump's win, so much hand wringing and wailing from such heavyweights such as Carla Delevegne, flaky clothes horse of course we want to know what her take is,not which is essentially spewing out the same old "fascist and Nazi" slurs. At least offer some sort of critique and appraisal as to why the Democrats lost the election which is why I was interested to read Jameela Jamil's take on the matter. Here we have, broadcasters such as Emily Maitliss and Tom Brady having public meltdowns, is it too much to ask that presenters have just a degree of impartiality?
