Asylum

Does anyone know?
I watched an asylum seeker honed in an hotel attack police who had come to remove him because he was causing problems. He bit the policewoman, leaving lasting marks, and causing her trauma.
He has been imprisoned, but when he is released, what then? Will he be entitled to be granted asylum, despite his actions?

Homed, not honed.

Who knows. This country is such a soft touch.

Well I would have thought that he will be allowed to remain in the UK once he's served his sentence OP. It's likely that he won't have any documents from his home country because they're usually either destroyed or non existent; therefore returning him would be virtually impossible. In addition, he'll be able to claim that returning him to his country of origin would put his life in danger; hence the reason that he probably left in the first place and, in any event would be in breach of his human rights. So it's very likely that he will remain. Frustrating isn't it?
