For anyone unhappy at the current government there is a petition available to sign. When I signed it last night there were 170k signatures - to say it's gathered pace is an understatement as it now stands at well over one million signatures.

And the number of times Remainers were told to put up and shut up , because the vote had been done democratically .........

You can sign a petition by ticking the box that says you are a UK citizen and any email will do.

Since Elon Musk shared it on X thousands have signed worldwide, so it's pretty much void.

I think you will find that you have to enter your UK postcode and valid UK email address to sign this petition.

Yep - one's UK postcode has to be filled in indeed. I doubt anyone unentitled is signing - as it's easy enough for someone to pick out a selection of names and see if name X is at postcode Y.

Last checked a few minutes ago and the votes for this are rolling in at enormous pace and it was clearly heading towards 3 million signatures last I saw.

Potentially everyone who voted for another party, plus a good few of those that did vote Labour we could get to 30 or 40 million, that must rate for the Guinness Book of Records - for pointless polls

^Yep, same as for Brexit^

Absolutely Fleurpepper! Perhaps it’s time to start a petition for a second EU Referendum!

I'm with you on that one :-)

People can sign the petition in their thousands but there won't be another election and not should there be. I didn't vote Labour and don't agree with some of their policies but they were voted in to power and there's little we can do about it.
Can you imagine the turmoil if we keep voting parties we don't like out after a few months

Facts, figures & stats seem to be alien concepts to Reform supports.

I’m still wondering where Freya got 7 million from?

I suppose they think that, if something is repeated enough times, people will believe it, regardless of its inaccuracy.

In fairness, Farage has made a living out doing this, as well as throwing the entire country under the bus, with his Brexit lies.

The Farage playbook is alive and well on GN.

Apologies. No I didn't pluck it from fresh air, misread when reading . Reform UK received 14.3% of the vote
4 million people voted for Reform, over 600,000 more than Lib Dems, came second in 98 seats, 20% only voted for Labour.
See now Reform have won two seats from Labour in council elections .
Facts , and figures denouncing this Government budget from CBI today, possible recession on the horizon, economic flatline.
Still if Labour repeat their lies often enough people will believe it, not. The Labour playbook is alive and well on GN.
The most unpopular Labour Gov,since ever.

2 million voted Lib Dem.
4 million voted Reform.
7 million voted Labour.
Don’t know about Tories.

Only 20 per cent of people voted for this tyrannical government, but they have gone back on their word and lied to us all so they are not fit for purpose!

Actually it was 33.7% of those who voted, if you are going to quote stats could you at least be correct. I don't know where you got this figure of 20% if it's based on the total number of the electorate, whether or not they voted, it is completely invalid as no one know how people who didn't turnout might have cast their vote.

What have they lied about? Perhaps we could discuss ( I will start another thread) what the positives are. You won't read any of them in The Telegraph though. I am sorry, and no doubt will get approbation heaped upon me, but how on earth can anybody support Farage et al? What are their policies? Other than blaming everything on migrants.

If Farage ever came anywhere close to leading this country (God help us all) he would very quickly realise there’s a lot more to it than trade deals with his bestie!

He would probably cr** himself!

I think he would do well!

I think he would too.

Only in your opinion. Not the 7 milionthat voted for them.

Taffy1234 Mon 25-Nov-24 12:25:00

We have had an election. Over whelming majority for the present government. It will take some time for the proposed measures to kick and effects evaluated. Just give it time.
Also remember signers what the alternative is.
Who would want another Conservatives government?
Be careful what you wish for before adding a name to this petition.

CariadAgain Mon 25-Nov-24 12:20:19

Signatures currently running at about 1,000 per minute signing.

nanna8 Mon 25-Nov-24 12:19:11

I’d sign it. I think Starmer is dreadful. A real and decent Labour government would be good. One that kept promises and didn’t promote liars.

But the massive disappointment, concern, and anger is largely from people who didn’t vote Labour in the first place Primrose53 - which is entirely predictable, surely.

Yes and it's mostly fronted by the Telegraph, the well known Tory rag.

Good to see FGT and Gg13 are keeping their sensible feet on the ground. This government, like all governments won’t please all of the people all of the time. I’m not delighted with everything but I feel safer than I did with the conservatives
