The trouble is, some of us have collectively been unfairly reported or brought to the attention of GNHQ on several occasions in the past, for minor misdemeanours, resulting in removals, that we now get a little twitchy when the words "involving moderators" are mentioned.
Also, the subject of the thread gets lost, as has happened here.

I think GB news keeps up to date well with current affairs, but some of the presenters and guests let their opinions run away with them in a daft way. But then so do I, don't we all sometimes?
I watch France24 for interesting analysis.

^half a sarnie short, I think^ !

Who or what FP ?

the one who says sandwiches are not 'proper' food for lunch at work.

The above was in reply to Oreo.

PoliticsNerd Mon 16-Dec-24 18:30:12

I don't want to report anyone! I simply though it completely understandable to want to keep discussions on topic without causing any upset. I was just trying to be constructive.

I really don't understand how half this stuff becomes NEWS? On any channel. Bonkers!

Also Oreo, please stop following me from thread to thread offering your opinions on Christmas trees, dogs, food, the weather, green trouser suits etc. Xx

This thread reminds me of a no longer with us Trump supporter, who said Fox News was the only Channel which was not (at all) biased!

What I want to know is, was the interview with Kemi Badenoch any good?

What do our right wingers think of her? I don't think that's really been covered on Gnet, has it?

Was she questioned about her comments regarding lunch breaks being for wimps and that she didn’t have lunch breaks or ate ( shock horror) sandwiches but did occasionally send away for a steak? Now surely it’s impossible to carry on working whilst eating a steak but easy to work whilst eating a sandwich?

Nanny27 Mon 16-Dec-24 17:25:28

Have to admit to never having watched GBNews until now. Since reading this thread I've watched several episodes and read a lot of the backstory of the channel. Can't say it's for me. Too overtly biased in a way that makes me quite uncomfortable. I certainly won't be abusive towards those who like it though.

Oldbat1 Mon 16-Dec-24 17:22:49

Farage is supposed to be an MP! Dreadful man.

Oreo Mon 16-Dec-24 17:06:19

Kemi Badenoch is plain speaking but does that translate to being good as a Leader? I don’t vote Conservative but will always give someone a chance.
She has very little political experience I think.

However, I am a little worried that you now seem to be following me from thread to thread in order to challenge me personally. It flattering, of course. But I do feel concerned for you, as it doesn't feel very healthy
Just because a member posts on a thread which interests her and from her history on GN has frequently done so over the years, and you have also posted does not amount to stalking or “following you from thread to thread”

I certainly didn't suggest anyone was "stalking" RosiesMaw2. It was just the move to commenting on how a post was made rather than what it brought to the discussion seem a bit off key.

Do you think it is worth involving the moderators? Or perhaps Oreo might like to drop me a line personally. I don't want anyone to feel upset.

On a forum you don’t ask other members whether to involve moderators, you simply report a post privately.Am being polite in case you don’t know this.
No, 😃I won’t be dropping you a line personally.
No, am not following you we just both post on the political threads.Nobody is upset btw.

The last thing I need at this time of year is a right-leaning news channel that hates Muslims. Knowing that pig ugly mofo Nigel Farage may turn up at any moment is horrifying.

Don't be ridiculous. He has a programme which is at a fixed time on a fixed day. If you don't like him don't watch.

love0c Mon 16-Dec-24 16:20:28

wibblywobbly Good grief. I rest my case! I wish you a Happy Christmas and a a Happy New Year.

Etoile2701 Mon 16-Dec-24 16:20:08

I certainly won't be watching. I can't stand GB News.

I don't watch GB News, cannot abide Farage, but each to their own, even if it is an echo chamber of your own views.

I pick and choose news and views programmes but think on the whole there are many good interviews on GB News.

Ah, the challenge of recognizing bias, especially when it aligns with our own perspectives.

Many people may perceive certain outlets as more balanced when the reporting resonates with their beliefs. This phenomenon can lead to confirmation bias, where individuals seek out information that confirms their preconceptions. Just as, it seems, many of the posters on this thread are doing. There seems to be very little critical thinking going on.

Presumably you include yourself when it comes to bias then?
