Trump initially chose Matt Gaetz as his Attorney General until objections from hs own party caused him to resign.

But now the House Ethics report (made up of 5 Democrats and 5 republicans) finds evidence Matt Gaetz paid thousands for sex and drugs including paying a 17-year-old for sex in 2017.

Its due to be released the afternoon, but news just out he's he's trying to stop it at the last minute.

The House Ethics Committee found evidence that former Rep. Matt Gaetz paid tens of thousands of dollars to women for sex or drugs on at least 20 occasions, including paying a 17-year-old girl for sex in 2017, according to a final draft of the panel’s report on the Florida Republican, obtained by CNN.

The committee concluded in its bombshell document that Gaetz violated Florida state laws, including the state’s statutory rape law, as the GOP-led panel chose to take the rare step of releasing a report about a former member who resigned from Congress.

“The Committee determined there is substantial evidence that Representative Gaetz violated House Rules and other standards of conduct prohibiting prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, impermissible gifts, special favors or privileges, and obstruction of Congress,” panel investigators wrote.

"CBS News says the draft report states: “The Committee determined there is substantial evidence that Representative Gaetz violated House Rules and other standards of conduct prohibiting prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, impermissible gifts, special favors or privileges, and obstruction of Congress.”

He made headlines before this when, in 2018, he brought a right-wing Holocaust denier to the State of the Union and attempted to expel two fathers who lost children in a mass shooting from a hearing".

He has lost his legal challenge and the report has been published. And this is the man who was to be Attorney General!

All these powerful, monied men seem to think they're above the law.. it is so sleezy and entitled.. Thank goodness the legal challenge was a failure.. though I expect Trump will find someone equally awful

I don’t want to start another Gaza thread but on the subject of decency and honesty I heard today that it’s the 5 th day that Netanyahu has been in court answering criminal charges. It hasn’t been reported to my knowledge but would have been a scandal a few short years ago.
