I have signed, but to be honest I don't think it will make the slightest bit of difference. The Taliban probably disapproves of cricket anyway, and sport is at least something that ordinary Afghans can get pleasure from, and goodness knows they get little enough of that.
I care very much about what is happening to Afghan women, but don't know what we, in a very different society in the UK, can do to help, other than send money to resistance organisations to support women in danger or even more need than usual. Boycotting and sanctions only work when economies are affected in a way that impacts people equally. My guess is that Taliban members would be ok even if the rest of the population starved, and women would be fed after the men anyway.
It's beyond depressing.
