Fantastic publicity for Farage. He is now officially the Man who Can't be Bought - even for 100 million dollars.
Thanks, Elon!

So you are not actually joking?

Farage is definitely not a slithery boot- licking crawler, like many. Good on him, this stance will gather even more support. The man had backbone

He knew that supporting Robinson would lose votes. He needs to keep his distance for political reasons. That's not backbone.

True of course.
However it takes some chutzpah not to cosy up for the sake of ££millions!

Farage.
A rare man of principle. He’s sticking to them.

How dare Musk, Trump or any other American criticize our country or politicians. They definitely want to put their own house in order before doing that.

That has always been going on, has it not?

Ordinary people anyway, are more than quick to do it.
You have just done it yourself.

Jess has had a panic room installed in her office because of previous threats; not sure if that’s in her home or her constituency office.sad

Babs03 Sun 05-Jan-25 17:55:05

Well if Musk only said that about Farage I would say he got off lightly, he called Jess Philips an evil witch and a rape genocide apologist. Now, all opinions aside, whether people love or loathe Jess Philips, this is not something a sane person says on social media, is an utter disgrace, and could incite certain people to attempt to cause harm to Jess Philips, goodness knows our politicians get enough death threats and rape threats in the case of women.
And of course this maniac is Trump's advisor.
Farage should think himself lucky that he didn't suffer far worse, and will perhaps now take refuge in Clacton where his constituents might just recognise who their MP is after such a long time.

What ‘stance’ karmalady? Musk is calling the shots, criticising Farage. Has Farage responded ‘with backbone’ by telling Musk to get lost? I don’t think so.

I think Musk has been behaving very strangely these last few weeks: absolute power?? It is his influence in America, ie Trump, that is so dangerous, due to his 'donation'of £57 million, plus.

Grannynannywanny Sun 05-Jan-25 17:28:28

I heard Nigel Farage on tv this morning describing Musk as a hero. He said just being associated with him made Reform look “cool”

I wonder if he still feels the same about his hero this evening.

We need to learn, understand and accept that politics today is not the politics of yesterday.

Social media has had a massive impact. Trump was wildly popular on Tiktok, younger generations loved him.

Watch The Social Dilemma, it explains it all.

Excellent response from Farage.
Measured & calm as usual.

I love you sarcastic sense of humour.

What a hoot.

If it all wasnt so serious.

Musk is playing. Typical neurodiverse behaviour.
The trouble is he has no idea how serious his actions can be.
Even when the worst happens with people with this condition they still find it funny.

Ha ha Freya, you are so ridiculous you actually cheer me up.

" Standing up for the British People" What a joke.

HousePlantQueen Sun 05-Jan-25 17:20:55

Well I suppose the USA doesn't have a problem with a felon as leader, so assume, wrongly, that the UK is the same.

Over the pond they are suggesting Tommy Robinson should be our leader !!!! What absolute boll..............s !!!!!!

Musk rather thinks Rupert Lowe is the main man. For the time being at least.

Reform has just 5 MPs. 5!

More votes than the wet dems, who should be the ones with only 5 seats.
Yet Rupert Lowe etc are standing up for British people more so than Davey. In fact all of those 5 have more nouse about them than all the wet dems put together.

😄😄 that’s not how I would describe it!

Doesn't stand up for me...why do Reform supporters assume that the majority of UK citizens think the way they do? It always puzzles me.

What a lot of nonsense it all is.

Musk, Trump, Farage and the like seem to have all the maturity of 14 year olds.

That's an insult to 14 year olds!

It certainly is!!

How is GBNews - that bastion of unbiased reporting dealing with this latest tripe?

Yesterday they were praising Musk to the hilt - today I guess not so much seeing as they employ Farage as one of their presenters.

FlitterMouse Sun 05-Jan-25 17:02:42

Apologies. Wrong quote in my reply.

Musk will fall out with Trump next.
After the inauguration.

I agree. No platform is big enough for two such huge egos. The fall out will be cataclysmic.
