Meanwhile Maggie Oliver has threatened legal action if a timeline for all 20 proposals in the 2022 Jay report is not produced.

Others, of course, are querying, "why was nothing done by previous governments"

Badenoch has stated she believes only another national inquiry will enable people to be summoned. I dont personally agree, it depends on the terms of the inquiries, and also lengthen the time greatly yet again for results.

This follows Yvette Cooper telling the Commons on Monday 6 January she would introduce criminal sanctions for both the cover-up of child sexual abuse and the failure to report it.

The 2022 after 7 years by Alexi Jay put forward 20 recommendations nearly all yet to be implemented.

I hope that these inquiries will complete the picture to be able to move ahead on implementation.

The full details are still to be announced but it looks like Andy Burnham's suggestions of more in-depth local inquiries will take place.

Local reviews, with a budget of £10m, will focus on the "cultural drivers" and ethnicity of the gangs, the BBC understands.

Yvette Cooper is also expected to ask police forces to reopen so-called "cold cases" relating to child sexual exploitation and abuse.
