I just heard that she is home and recovering

The attacker has just appeared in court and identified himself as Mohammed Roman Haque

Allira Thu 16-Jan-25 15:31:50

Thank goodness, I do hope she will make a good recovery.

Cossy Thu 16-Jan-25 15:36:27

I too hope she recovers speedily and is able to return to work.

This is one of those cases where I feel the perp should be deported if he doesn’t hold a British passport.

A terrible ordeal for the poor nurse. Hope he is imprisoned for a long time so he can't attack any more nurses or anyone else.

This is a current criminal case.
We should not be making any comment about the accused.

Why not welbeck?

welbeck Thu 16-Jan-25 17:46:56

Not sure if that is a serious question.
The Contempt of Court Act 1981 section 1.
Strict liability rule.
By ignoring it you are putting not only yourself but GN in jeopardy of criminal sanction.

Well said Cossy

This was a very sad case, as was the case of Rhiannon Skye White.

She was stabbed to death by a migrant.

There should be no question when it comes to deportation.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 16-Jan-25 18:44:31

sago totally agree.

If found guilty both should be deported, no ifs nor buts!

Casdon Thu 16-Jan-25 18:59:35

Is there a suggestion from a reputable source that the man who attacked the nurse is not a UK citizen or legally here?

Ilovecheese Thu 16-Jan-25 19:00:33

Why name the perpetrator and not the nurse?

Casdon Thu 16-Jan-25 19:03:39

The nurse has been named too, here’s a picture of her.

Welbeck it was a serious question. I appreciate your concern, but I did not comment on the accused and your suggestion I may be putting myself in jeopardy of criminal sanction has upset me. A bit strong !

welbeck Thu 16-Jan-25 20:41:54

Many of the posts have so commented.
I was referring to those that have or may do so.

Shelflife Thu 16-Jan-25 20:44:28

Forgiven!

welbeck Thu 16-Jan-25 20:45:36

Writers ie posters here and publishers ie GN MN here are potentially in jeopardy of criminal sanction if ignoring the strict liability rule.

The you I used previously was meant to refer to anyone posting on here.

I cannot find any such reference: any assumption must be from social media.

Shelflife Thu 16-Jan-25 21:35:38

I recognize that now , but I took it personally - not surprising really.
