Saying how grateful she is to Patrick and GB news and their viewers for the terrific amount of money they have raised for her charity..

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 20-Jan-25 21:44:55

Amazing amount! Well done GBNews.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 20-Jan-25 21:46:20

Someone has just made a donation of £75,000 Patrick tells Maggie.

Sago Mon 20-Jan-25 21:50:41

It’s phenomenal!

Maggie Oliver and Patrick Christie are good people.

Bixiboo Mon 20-Jan-25 21:55:42

Patrick’s go fund me page has raised £345547 without gift aid and the £75000 donation was made directly to Maggies Foundation in addition. GB news viewers are extremely generous.

They want justice. A full inquiry.
Something with teeth that can force people to give evidence.
They are sick of all this cover up.

Thanks for the update. Good for PC, MO and GB News Viewers. 👏👏

So pleased to see a positive thread about GBNews for a change. Most of the people on there are simply stating what so many people are thinking. We are so often ridiculed for our views. It's good to have a platform where things are brought out into the open and discussed.
It should not have been necessary to raise any money for this. It does make you wonder what people are afraid of and what is going to come out.
It took a while before Tony Blair was forced to explain himself over the 'Weapons of mass destruction'. Now we have another issue where those in authority need to explain themselves.
Once again, the Labour Party has made a big mistake and needs to face up to the consequences of following an ideal without considering the full implications.

What are the full implications?

Oh yes, there are always people happy to put the boot in to GB news…😁

Well done for this.

No one knocks GB News without reason on here, likewise no GNs would criticise raising money for the great work done the brave Maggie Oliver.

Cossy Wed 22-Jan-25 12:22:56

BTW, why use this congratulatory thread to Labour bash again?

What are the implications?

I’d be very interested to know the reasons why GB news gets knocked by certain individuals on this forum…

Indigo8 Wed 22-Jan-25 12:35:07

GB news gets knocked by certain individuals for similar reasons that lefties and the Labour party get knocked by certain other individuals.

The reasons behind this current govt not wanting full govt investigations are quite clear, they want ACTIONS, not words, they want policies and safeguarding our I to place, not more inquiries and meetings.

Btw much of these awful abuses and Child Explotation happened with our previous govt tenure, so why are you laying the blame at this govt’s door?

Cossy Wed 22-Jan-25 14:10:05

Soz excuse typos!

Fantastic 😊

eazybee Wed 22-Jan-25 17:21:47

The current government does not want investigations because it will expose the indifference of the local authorities to the offences committed over a long period of time.
A proper inquiry would be able to compel witnesses to give evidence and identify them but a local one won't. Safeguarding IS in place; it is the police and social services who fail , repeatedly , to take action even when confronted with indisputable evidence through the safeguarding process.

why are you laying the blame at this govt’s door?
Because they have refused to allow a proper inquiry.
Jess Phillips should be ashamed of herself, as should Yvette Cooper, threatening 'people who do not report abuse with prison sentences'. when the evidence HAS been supplied by those very people, who DO report it, again and again.
