Putin won’t go anywhere near Poland. He knows full well the poles have the largest army in Europe and their fingers are on the trigger just waiting the chance to kill some Russians.

This is reality the Poles have 1000 tanks and NATO backing them up, they hate Russians for sure, Russia has proved very weak in conventional arms and have lost many of those in the war. Attacking a NATO country would result in a quick defeat for Russia.
The UK is weak the Challenger11 tanks are worn out and new ones are only just being built, however were not likely to get involved in a land war. Operational aircraft and ships are also sadly lacking, we are very dependant on the US

Reading your link I’m a bit concerned by the lack of nautical knowledge shown by the minister for defence.
He stated the Russian ship was now heading towards the Mediterranean and then it had gone through the straights of Dover and was now in Dutch waters. 🤷‍♀️

When John Healey referred to the vessel Yantar heading to the Mediterranean, that was in November 2024. It returned this month and passed through British waters and sailed to Dutch waters.

I don't think "drill baby drill" as a slogan is going to result in cheaper oil in the next month or so! Surely it'll take a while for production levels to increase from today's by 150% or whatever it would take to majorly impact world oil prices?

Thing is with wars, every day, every week, every month before a truce is a disaster.

Trump's statement very unfair to Zelensky, I don't remember him ever claiming to be an angel, his angelicness has nothing whatsoever to do with the conduct of the war & quite how he could have avoided it eludes me.

Putting North Sea pipelines out of action would cripple the UK for months, I’m sure the Navy are keeping a close watch but a sneak attack would probably get through, it’s all too easy.

I made the mistake of assuming that Moldavia and the Baltic States remained outside Russia in the long term - there’s so much hype surrounding Putin. Realistically Putin had his work cut out trying to reclaim parts of Ukraine - it didn’t go well. Does he have any soldiers left to carry the fight to Moldavia and The Baltic States? He has imported 300,000 from North Korea.

Cossy I wouldn’t be happy for my sons to die on the battlefields of Ukraine. It is a completely senseless war.
Of course we need young people to defend our country. That’s not in doubt.

At the moment, our government is not offering soldiers but £3 billion a year for the next 100 years so that other nations can have their military engaged/killed.

Please don’t get me wrong, I do want this war to stop, but my fear is complete capitulation might lead to other countries which used to be USRR led might be invaded, where does it end?

There was a Russian ship in our waters that was checking the undersea cables recently. It was warned to move which it did and a message was sent to Putin to say "we can see you"

We know that Putin has always said that the U.K. is one of the first in his sights in time of war.

He's done for us already really, by funding Brexit.

Physically, he'd have to overrun Europe to get to us and, anyway, what would be the point? We don't have any quantities of valuable resources (unlike Ukraine). So why bother?

Putin thought he could just walk in and claim Ukraine, Trump now intends to do the same with Greenland. Russia wants Greenland too. Maybe that's Putin's payoff, Trump will let him have Ukraine if Russia doesn't challenge Trump over Greenland. Win win for Trump.

I hope that the eventual settlement will not be seen as rewarding Putin for his invasion of a sovereign country.

If it does it puts other countries, including our own at risk.

We know that Putin has always said that the U.K. is one of the first in his sights in time of war.

Changes to customs regulations in future could make it easier.
