Within days of the salute that so many said wasn't a Nazi salute we have this.
Could be coincidental but in any case why is Musk interfering in German politics.

No coincidence at all, I am quite sure.

I think I have mentioned this group in some of my posts . My son who is German pointed them out to me and that they are gaining traction . Now you have Musk emphasizing his support of them . He is a dangerous man .

This doesn't really sit well with the suggestion that Musk is on the spectrum so doesn't know what he is doing.
In my opinion this illustrates that he knows exactly what he is doing.

It is all getting a tad sinister I think.

While Trump is deciding what to do about Tiktoc he's said he would not have a problem with Musk buying it. Can you imagine the media power Musk would have if he owned X and Tiktoc? Scary.

His grandparents supported the Nazi party.
He grew up in apartheid
He has turned Twitter into a neo-nazi platform
He openly supports and socializes influencers who admit they are racist and neo-nazis
He supports the AfD and other far right parties in Europe

Each one of these alone could be questioned, but when you start putting the dots together, you can see the pattern. How many times does a person have to show them who they are before we believe them right?

This is to do with visual (and mental) cognition, you can look but can't see. Don't search this subject too much but do the test www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJG698U2Mvo
People of colour who have felt the violence know what it is like, but similarly the Jewish people who dare to criticise Israel are very severely ostracised. As Matt Frei put it on LBC today prepare for the brace position.

I agree that the writing on the wall has been there in plain sight. Musk isn’t just a nutty genius who makes weird salutes because he isn’t aware of what he is doing. He is alt right and proud.
Which in his present position as Trumps advisor and owner of X makes him very dangerous indeed.

What’s TikTok got to do with Trump.
Musk could only buy the company if the Chinese owners want to sell it.

We have been aware of the Afd in this country for many years.

Actually, Trump has suggested he wants the government to have a 50% stake in TikTok.

There's been lots in the press about this with a long and comprehensive report in today's Reuters. Check it out for yourself there's lots of unbiased sources available.

Is anyone really surprised by this? Quite a number of us did point out on the other thread that it wasn't just a question of the 'salute' taken in isolation, but had to be viewed along with Musk's previous support for far-right groups and issues.

I have read a few articles recently suggesting that Trump is now distancing himself from Musk, because he views the X decline as a sign of failure, and only wants to be surrounded by people he counts as winners. He was certainly publicly dismissive of Musk’s take on his AI proposals, but whether the speculation about him distancing is true, who knows.

I think Musk’s days with Trump will be numbered based upon how Trump tends to hire and then fire those who work for him, and of course Musk should not be seen to surpass Trump when it comes to publicity, so is not a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’.

Wyllow3 Sun 26-Jan-25 13:00:17

Sooner or later Musk will prove to be too great a "loose cannon" but think of the consequences turning x against POTUS?

Casdon Sun 26-Jan-25 13:06:08

I’m not sure X will survive long term unless Musk keeps it on as a vanity project, this week he sent out a communication to employees saying it is ‘barely breaking even’. It would be difficult to regain advertising revenue unless he drastically changes his business model.
