No, it doesn't! I'm not excusing Hamas' atrocities. Israel is aware that Hamas is a threat, which is why it defends itself so well. There was a breakdown in security and intelligence. Two senior Israeli army officers took responsibility and resigned.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that he will stay in government only if war resumes after the first phase until the total defeat of Hamas, whose Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel triggered the war.

Which is why I said "some" politicians who have made their views clear, I don't know what the opposition wants.

It is still no reason to treat the people in Gaza as if they were subhuman. Which is what is happening. Imo Seeing those people going back to their homeland which has been bombed to smithereens is heartbreaking. They don’t even have a functioning hospital do they? One atrocity is never an excuse for another one.
