as he agrees to deliver a massive number of bombs for the IDF- so they can clear the country.

Are they planning the Ben Gurrion Canal yet- was it was this is all about, as some suspected a long time ago.

Call me cynical andpessimistic. Where on earth are they supposed to go?

Netanyahu has been giving a news conference about plans for Gaza (he refused to allow questions btw)

Plans are apparently well underway to develop the entirety of Gaza into a holiday resort with zero place for any Palestinians.

Trump has delivered a huge amount of heavy bombs to Israel - which were prohibited by Biden because they are very in discriminatory and too many innocents are killed.

The plan is to bomb the Palestinians out of Gaza, which will begin before the end of spring. No details were forthcoming as to where the homeless will find refuge.

Trump’s family will be given profitable contracts to re-build.

Call me cynical WW2 but I think Bibi and Donald have been brewing this plan for some time.. and Vlad and Donald have similar plots.. great buddies..

We will see seismic shifts in the next few months IMO

Hate, feeds more hate, and it goes on. And now, people who 'look like Palestinians' are being shot in the street in USA- just for their looks.

And then it turns out they were Israeli Jews.

A 17-shot fusillade from a shooter with a semiautomatic handgun sent two people to the hospital after an encounter Saturday night in Miami Beach, police said. As to what ignited such an attack on Pine Tree Drive, the arrest form details Mordechai Brafman in the police interview room, “spontaneously stated that while he was driving his truck, he saw two Palestinians and shot and killed both.” Brafman didn’t kill anybody. One person was shot in the left shoulder, police added, the other person got a grazed forearm. Law enforcement sources didn’t say whether or not the people shot were Palestinians, only that they’re visiting from Israel. The Instagram account South_Florida_Simchas, which posts about Jewish life, posted a selfie video that showed a bullet in a man’s left shoulder and stated the victims were an Israeli father and son and neither are Palestinian.

And if they want to stay in Gaza, what then David?

They will perish with Hamas.

However I hope it doesn’t come to that and Hamas gives up ans a peaceful government in Gaza is established, if Hamas refuse to leave there is no future for Gaza.

Anniebach Mon 17-Feb-25 08:52:37

Hamas will surely want to stay in Gaza

‘Any emigration from Gaza should be voluntary’

So looks like ethnic cleansing it is then.

The current issue amongst Arab nations is who is going to provide security in Gaza when the war ends, just like Ukraine Trumps ultimatum has forced them to talk seriously. Because they know Trump could do what he threatens - he really could in both cases.

Really? What do you think Trump can actually, practically, do?

Along with the Israelis he could depopulate Gaza, he will be able to bribe other countries to take Gaza’s. If the threat of that forces a lasting peace settlement with proper security in Gaza and neighbouring countries that is good progress.

Same in Ukraine, only the threat if a unilateral deal has got European leaders together to face paying for their own defence.

Indeed even seeing themselves as Russian..

Claremont Sun 16-Feb-25 18:40:05

And many Serbs very pro Russia.

Casdon Sun 16-Feb-25 18:07:18

Russia is partly in Europe, and partly in North Asia in fact.

Claremont Sun 16-Feb-25 18:05:37

Did you watch the amazing recent series on the Balkans, with Katie Adler? Still so much tension in the region, between different nations that used to be Yugoslavia. Christians, Orthodox and Muslims. The biggest shock for me was the attitude of Serbians towards Kosovo- they still do not accept that Kosovo is a different nation- and still believer Kosovo is Serbian and needs to be back within.

I entirely agree re Western European tribes fighting each other. We don't try to annihilate each other any more though. These middle eastern people have more in common than they realise. It's just religious beliefs that separate them. Just beliefs!

Not just religious beliefs, dictators, warlords or religious fanatics holding the population under their power.
Europe was/is no different, we had the Balkan wars 30 yrs ago now the Ukraine war - Russia is in Europe

I was very glad the prisoner exchange has gone according to plan today, I desperately hope the ceasefire can continue as planned - its now moving into phase 2 which is for a continuing ceasefire and all the hostages released (but I dont know the projected time scale)

As for Trump, he promised "all hell would break loose" if all the hostages were not realised today and his plans have met obstacles as Jordan and Egypt have refused to take Gazan's.

The original cease fire structure is/was

"The proposal is a serial initiative in three stages, beginning with a six-week ceasefire, the release of all Israelis being held hostage in Gaza in exchange for some of the Palestinians being held by Israel, a permanent ceasefire, Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, and a reconstruction process lasting from three to five years.

It isn't going to hold IMO.. once all the Israeli hostages are released I think the war will resume with Trump backing and financing it..

Claremont Sun 16-Feb-25 16:45:35

Thanks for this growstuff- was going to write something similar. It is like saying Europeans are all the same. And yet we know that even now, there are huge fights going on between different religions and within and with other nations.

And there are almost as many ways of being a Muslim, as there are ways of being Christian.

It's all so daft really. These countries' populations are all basically the same - Arabs. Tribes fighting each other.

Errmm ... no! Not all Arabs are the same. My son-in-law is proud to have Arab heritage, but his family come from Sudan. He feels he has little in common with Arabs from the Saudi peninsula. They're not even that close genetically.

Was WW2 all about European tribes fighting each other?

And the really nasty Jihadists fighting all of them.

This was not written today by a famous person, just an ordinary Jew - his views are clear

'Hi israel I noticed that we have become a country that conducts the public debate: "Ethnic Cleansing - for and against", so I came to help with some guidelines for the debate

1. "What is legitimate to say about this and what not? ״
Basically, every statement on the subject is legitimate and acceptable, as long as it's against ethnic cleansing.

2. "but why anyway?" ״
Like this. Because ethnic cleansing is bad.

3. "okay but why?" ״
Like this. If I begin to explain, I accept the assumption that "Ethnic cleansing: against" is not an obvious position.

4. "But it's not ethnic cleansing, it's voluntary migration. ״
Wrong, it's ethnic cleansing.

5. "But democracy, why silence opinions you don't agree with?"
Because it's about ethnic cleansing.

6. "So what are you proposing?" ״
Do not do ethnic cleansing.

7. "But we've already tried everything!" ״
We haven't tried genocide according to some of the people, nor have we tried "willful immigration" of Jews from the israel surface, neither have we tried collective suicide nor an atomic bomb. This is a stupid claim, and he is not opposed to ethnic cleansing, which makes it, as said, an illegitimate position - see article #1.

8. "You can't live like that when they're here across the border. ״
So move abroad.

9. "Gaza is completely destroyed, this is the most humanitarian solution for them right now. ״
Now we've really reached the claims for ethnic cleansing. See Article #1.

10. "Okay, what does it matter if I'm for or against, it's not realistic anyway." ״

It really makes a difference. See Article #1.
I was happy to help, and history will judge us. Kahane may not have been right, but he certainly won. 🎉
