Agree, Which is why I have the greatest of respect not for the kings and queens of Saudi and Jordan or the dictator sisi, but the people who have deserved most of my respect....are the jews who have spoken up. My bets are on the Ben Gurion Canal project they have been planning together for a very long time- but the Palestinians were in the way in Gaza. Wait and see.

I very much doubt that any Arab country will suddenly be willing to house refugees from Gaza, even if these people should want suddenly to have to move to Egypt, Jordan or anywhere else.

So, I think this is just one more of Trump's ideas that have no real basis for being adopted.

Thats why I can't understand why some - I emphasis some - are prepared to countenance it in Palestine.

Trump's position will be taken by the far right in Israel (Smotrich, Ben Givr et al) as a signal of support and it's bringing the Arab countries closer. This is a recipe for a longer war not a long term peace.

Yes, this is my concern, it will crash the peace, and it may be the intention. Threatening a whole population with ethnic cleansing isn't a great way forward in international relationships.
