The other filled up very swiftly - so I assume a need for it’s continuation.

Musk and his hackers now have access to every single tax filers information. He has accessed the IRS.

Now that is worrying. In fact Musk is just like an unexploded nuke, we all know he can cause horrendous amounts of damage but hope that others can somehow keep him contained.
Not sure they can though. 😡

JD Vance is an investor in an app that helps foreign buyers buy farmland in the US.

hmm

Oh of course he is. 😡
What a crook.

The idea of putting urban, educated people to work on farms to " encourage " re-learning ( aka indoctrination) is a straight take from the work of Chairman Mao.

This is why they aren't worrying about not having migrants to do farm work. They can bankrupt the farmers, buy up the farms at pennies on the dollar, then charge people to work the farms to "cure" themselves of their mental health or drug problems.

RFKjr has decided that anyone with mental health or drug problems should be sent to "health farms" to cure them.

Or could be used for conversion therapy.
Failing all this of course they could have camps (gulags) and force anyone caught guilty of promoting diversity etc., to work on the farms.
Might sound out there right now but tbh most of what the administration is doing is seriously out there.

In all fairness, can the plane crashes be blamed on Musk or Trump?

Though I think any future ones could well be...

He stopped the hiring of all traffic controllers as soon as he was inaugurated. We were already 3,000 air traffic controllers short staffed. He fired the safety board and all of the leadership at the FAA days before these crashes happened.

So while yes, it could be a coincidence, there are a lot of his decisions that exacerbated the problem that was already there.

He is trying to get people killed. That is the only thing that makes sense any more.

We have had 7 planes crash since his inauguration.

Sorry, I’ve derailed the serious thread, talking about cars. I’ll say no more. Apologies.

woodenspoon Mon 17-Feb-25 13:37:39

Really? I think there must be a few dealerships on the south coast. I see those cars every day.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 17-Feb-25 13:32:39

His was black btw - but this was in the very early days of electric cars.

Around where I live, south east coast, I see lots of Teslas. They nearly always seem to be white but I’m assuming other colours are available.

Yes, DS always bought a Tesla until Musk went mad and now he wouldn’t entertain one.

“Even great men” !!! blimey, that bar is set pretty low.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 17-Feb-25 13:21:07

Plus, thought you’d all (or most on here!) would enjoy reading that!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 17-Feb-25 13:19:50

Posting that 🔼 illustrates that I am fair minded. I can see that even great men don’t get everything right.

Yes, well done Sheryl Crow and all the thousands of others in Europe who seem to be cancelling their orders for Tesla cars. Why would you wish to drive a car that announces to everyone that you support Musk?

I would be a tad embarrassed. Feel a bit obliged to put a notice in the car window that I don’t support Musk. But I guess by driving a Tesla that is exactly what you are doing.

”My parents always said … you are who you hang out with,” wrote singer Sheryl Crow over Twitter alongside a video of her selling her Tesla. “There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla.”

Well said Sheryl Crow👏👏👏

From the Daily Pnut this morning:

“Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is continuing to slash federal agencies’ workforces in an attempt to cut down on the U.S. government’s budget deficit. With key agencies like U.S.A.I.D. and the Department of Education getting cut out entirely, it seems that Elon’s big plan is to replace career bureaucrats with AI systems, cutting down on wages and benefits. Who stands to benefit from this? Mainly Silicon Valley AI firms that are building products to replace human workers.

In response to those government slashes and Musk’s blatant conflict of interest as a business owner, protestors demonstrated at Tesla dealerships across the country over the weekend. They accused Musk of attacking democracy and criticized his flirtation with Nazi ideology, disrupting business at his most lucrative investment. Tesla shares make up the vast majority of Musk’s wealth – whether the company deserves its sky-high valuation or not – and stockholders are worried that Musk’s increasingly right-leaning political stances will push away more liberal customers. “My parents always said … you are who you hang out with,” wrote singer Sheryl Crow over Twitter alongside a video of her selling her Tesla. “There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla.”

I'm seeing on bluesky this morning that hundreds of Federal Aviation employees have been fired. This includes air traffic controllers and engineering staff.

This was posted as a message from a former FAA employee. Oh, I was going to post a couple of pictures, but the 'add file' function seems to have been removed. Is this in response to the Mumsnet incident a few days ago?

Here's a link to the bluesky post instead:

I'd be very worried about flying in, or to, the US now...
