I don't agree that NATO countires have been pushing borders closer to Russia. I also believe that Russia has no interest in expanding its empire beyond what it sees as its historic borders. The issue is that Putin believes Ukraine is part of Russia, and not an independent sovereign state- therefore he felt that he could go in there with impunity after previously stating he had no intention of invading, and that the troops lined up on the borders were just undertaking special military operations.
The truth remains Putin thought he could take Kyiv, and the matter would be over in weeks. It wasn't- it has taken three years and a lot of human lives lost and a lot of money too, and he is beginning to realise he will never take Kyiv.
Trump's re-election has now given Putin the signal to cosy up to a soft US and come to some sort of deal. Quite how this will work out no one really knows.
I am now going to see if there has been any other coverage of Sach's speech on Youtube or indeed anywhere else.

I listened and whilst I agree with him on Israel I do think he is blinkered on Putin and Russia, and his assessment seems simplistic as saying Russia good, everyone else bad.
This is as much a childish stance as the one he lags off as Europe's attitiude.
This is an African news channel- a continent containing many countries whose wars are funded by Russia to maintain a presence and influence there.
This is probably why the main channels aren't covering it much.

As for the news channel it was the one that I managed to get to work. If you think it was edited to only contain biased content, other sites are available to compare.
Also, news is news, and this is about the events that concern the west, so imv all the more reason to cover it, so I tend to disagree with your statement probably this us why main news channels arnt covering it
With regards to Russia, could you be more specific?
I think many others have pointed out the facts of the NATO agreement not to push boarders closer to Russia. If you have other information I'd be very glad to read up on it. 🙂

Still, anyone interested in something near the truth of world politics(imv) can always look up Jeffrey Sachs speech at the European Parliament, in their own time.
It is funny but I don't know if the main news tv channels are covering it much.
I thought it rather more explosive than the Vance speech.
I'll go and have a look later.

I hope some look at it even if they don't feel like discussing it on here.
I enjoy reading lots of differing information from as many sources as poss, and I assume others do aswell?

Pity, I just thought this was a concise and understandable account of what is happening today, in Ukraine, USA and Europe, and the reasons for it.
