I’m shocked to the core by the absolute rudeness shown to Zelensky by Trump and Vance this afternoon.I’ve never seen anything like it.
However much they disagreed with things Zelensky said it was a terrible thing to see them try and humiliate him on public tv.
How Zelensky kept calm in the face of it I don’t know.
Even for Trump this was a new low. It should have been talks in private.🤬

Maybe we should all go back to our day jobs.I didn’t know what the Marsh parents did for a living as I wasn’t interested enough.
I knew they were teachers/admin of some kind but the children must still be at school.

Allira both parents are Cambridge graduates, the father works as a history lecturer and is a published author, the mother is a university administrator. The children go to school. What day jobs do you suggest they should go back to?
The day jobs of lecturing and administrating in a university.
Just as much a day job as being a refuse collector, a postman or a teacher.
I don’t think much of the parents tbh pushing the songs and politics on the children.
Oh my goodness, perhaps it's a regional saying 😂
I know full well what they do, the joke on0bvioysly went over the heads of some!
What was lovely about that Vermont demo was that almost all the posters were handmade, saying how people felt. Well done them.

Haven't you ever heard that expression? I'm surprised.
"Don't give up the day job"
Yes Wyllow- well done Vermont.

The value of music is that it reminds us of strong emotional elements - its not just who said what round the negotiating table but lives lost and shattered.
Just like this demonstration in Vermont reminds us that "feelings" matter.....
...After the bullying at the White House, Vance set out for the ski slopes of Vermont.
This was his reception

The Marsh family are not helping.
Oh.
They just set the facts to music. That's fine by me - and very clever.
Dosen't impact me one way or other. As you say just facts.

As they are hardly a headline news item, I doubt it matters.
Those who don't like the Marsh family, or their content, will not be swayed by their effort - and those who do, already are.
I haven't heard their latest effort and won't seek it out but perhaps it's time they went back to their day jobs.

Ironically, I think the "bully" meeting has strengthened a sense of purpose for Europeans to find areas of common ground. If you are following any newsfeed there is a great sense of warmth and purpose from European leaders arriving today for discussions.
The BBC news feed included Meloni, Italian PM, whose politics are to the right and has good relationships with Trump, was very clear on the Ukraine.

I know it’s not ideal but what’s the alternative?
Thank you for coming back. I think people were just all saying that just signing a mineral deal for the US on its own, is not any kind of peace deal, it's just a minerals rights deal. There is no quid pro quo - there is nothing in it.
It doesn't address how there could be cease fire, it doesn't address where borders should be, it doesn't address Russia's willingness to compromise and what that might be, although Trump has spoken to Putin.
At the moment European leaders are meeting and it looks likely they will address:
..... three components needed for a lasting peace in Ukraine - one is a "strong Ukraine" to fight on if necessary and to be in a strong position to negotiate if a cease fire can not be negotiated in the near future
The second is a European element with security guarantees; and this involves a great deal of discussion about defence budgets and the future of NATO of course (although its not a NATO meeting
And the third is a US backstop."
The following was copied from today's Washington Post. It sums up the situation perfectly IMO.
"The idea of an American president extorting Kyiv in exchange for maintaining a lifeline to help it resist Russian aggression seems to me a betrayal of what the United States should stand for."
Ooops “morally”

The Marsh family are simply saying how it was. I'm not sure why they should be expected to " help" the aggressor.
I have said before that I fear that now Mr Putin has a buddy in the White House, he'll expect to be handed Ukraine on a platter.
Then, after a period of recovery/ pillage, he'll find his map again and think hmm...where next?
What price Latvia- or Finland ..?or?
The thing is Ukraine is not Trump’s to gift!
Honestly, has the world (parts of it) gone completely mad!
Ukraine is independent, many many countries have become independent across the last 75 years or so.
Let’s remember America may not have got involved in WW2 had Pearl Harbour not been bombed.
Never mind about all the legalities, mortally Putin is 100% in the wrong!
He should withdraw and then pay for Ukraine to be re-built! Of course this won’t happen, but never forget this isn’t a civil war with both sides battling, Russia invaded and subsequently destroyed Ukraine, and along with it killed and trafficked thousands of children and ruined the lives of many innocent civilians in both countries.

All trump is interested in is getting his hands on Ukraine s minerals
One of my recurring thoughts after watching that awful meeting, is how anyone who ever had dealings with domestic abusers would see that in Trump and Vance
"I believe yesterday was as much about 'domestic consumption' as any peace deal."
Absolutely, Trump's comment about it "making good television" says it all.
