Zelenskyy could sign a mineral deal alongside giving Russia the land it has annexed and Trump could well suddenly find a reason not to mine in Ukraine, - too difficult, not sufficient minerals etc. and it would be left exposed to Russia.

That is where contract lawyers and their like would come into play. Not that I really know much about such things.

I believe he wants to halt the war in Ukraine so that their valuable minerals can be mined and used for the benefit of US, likely businesses he can benefit from and to avoid the supply from China. Ukraine is simply a business deal in waiting, it means nothing to him likewise Europe.

He was saying that Russia would not attack the US miners in Ukraine. As that would be an attack on the US.
So that would protect Ukraine, by the US miners being there.

He appears to want speed up withdrawal of troops from Europe. Nothing in Europe for him, move troops towards the Pacific.

Withdrawing all US weapons which are in the Ukraine now and stopping all deliveries which Biden had agreed on.

Definitely time for NATO to stick together and establish a large base in Canada. Just joking.
