I was very encouraged by his speech. The Democrats reacted like sulky children.

OK Namsnanny if you believe that Donald Trump cares about the rights of women, that’s your prerogative. I’m not trying to convince you one way or the other.

I believe that he absolutely does not. My belief is not based on my dislike of the man; it’s based on his words and actions.

I don't know if he cares about women's rights or not.

His actions shows he cares (if only from a political stand point), that the rights of some men should not take away the rights of ALL children and women to expect safety in prisons, sports, schools, hospitals, speech etc.

I think you must be Al glasshalffullagain posting to stir up dis satisfaction🤣

...or his puppet masters care about girls in norther towns...

You do realise that one of the people called out for being Trumps puppet master, (remember the reports that EM is really the President?) Namely Elon Musk has been criticised for calling out to the world, the terrible situation that has been happening to working class girls in the North?

So if you believe EM is calling the shots, it doesn't fit with your narrative.

It's been happening since at least the 70's.
Can you name anyone abroad who has said anything over that period?
You'd be hard pressed to find someone here in the UK who has been allowed/
Interested enough to battle through the disinterest of our political class, let alone another country.

I'm vèy interested in who you think Trumps masters are though?

I have no problem with Trump's removing men from women's sport. None whatsoever.

But my views on him don't come down to one thing or the rest. It's possible to support one policy out of several without buying into any of the others. So many people seem unable to grasp that.

Why are people suddenly all upitty about women's rights and sport?

It's a smoke screen. Some sort of vague attack on so called " woke" ideas.

Trump and his vile followers don't care about anybody.

You really should read more broadly.

This is such an ill informed response.

Did the Cass Report or the WPATH files come to your attention?

GN has a certain comedic value doesn't it really?

A felon, a woman hater, somebody who urged us to drink bleach and so on.

Now because of a few pathetic soundbites and some haf baked nonsense , he is deemed to be worthy of listening to.

Does anybody think he cares about women's right? Or that his puppet master cares about abused girls in Northern UK towns?

No, I don’t think he gives a fog about any women’s rights

I don’t think that Trump is being honest (what an astounding surprise) over what he terms “rare minerals” and the $500bn he maintains he will gain from the agreement.

I was talking to my DS yesterday - whilst visiting his new puppy - and he said that there simply isn’t that level of rare minerals in Ukraine - anywhere. Extracting what is there May well be fraught with difficulties, as these minerals are often contained within (I think that’s what he said) unpleasant stuff like uranium etc.

The level of income would only be in the 10s of billions. DS thinks that Trump almost certainly has his eyes on other stuff.

One of DSs degrees is geology.

Trump is a traitor to the Western allies. Unbelievable that he is taking Putin’s side. He is an affront to his party and the American people.

Well said Babs03. He’s a nasty piece of work. As are his mates Vance and Musk. Vance’s comment about our brave service men and women in Afghanistan was an all time low. Even worse than calling Zelensky a dictator or referring to Canada as the 51st state. Shocking behaviour!

I’ve just read a commentary which likens Trump’s mouth to a cat’s bum- this has given me a mental image I can’t undo.

Although I don't like to comment on people's physical appearance, I am happy to make the exception for Trump. His mouth reminds me of a cat's bum with teeth. Or one of those primitive life forms like a lamprey.

What a shame we can’t post photos now. I’ve seen it and dozens of others. Soooooooo good 😂

^”Unfortunately he is the only ticket in town who has even approached the problem of.mem in women's prisons, men in women's sports, and propaganda supporting this message in schools and hospitals”^

Meanwhile Namsnanny women who are victims of rape and incest are being forced, against their will, to go through with any ensuing pregnancy.

The lives of women who are miscarrying are being put at risk because they are not allowed medical intervention.

How do you, as a so-called feminist (I presume) feel about the subjugation of the rights of these women to powerful men?

Do you have any figures supporting your claims?

As I understood it the situation was left to each state to choose the way they handled rights to abortion?
You may well have more details than I?

But it doesn't follow that conflating two different positions leads to the same outcome, ie Trump does or doesn't value women's rights.

To be frank anyone who wishes to attack the idea that women's (and more importantly) childrens rights, by playing the what about this argument (whataboutery) is just venting their ire at (in this case Trump) a personality they don't like.

I prefer to try not to confuse myself with mixing arguments and or emotional reflexes, and take each subject on its merits or lack of.

He is has both British and US passports .

It never fails to surprise me how terrified some people in the US are of what might have been called the liberal left a few years ago but now is called WOKE. Is a bogey man that for millions of Americans doesn’t adversely affect their lives in any way. But a good smoke screen for a fascist dictator like Trump to hide behind, whose ham fisted policies are already adversely affecting millions of Americans and will continue to do so, as well as adversely affecting many other parts of the world.
Still, at least Trump is doing something about trans men in women’s sports, perhaps we should tell Zelenskyy this or the European leaders worried about the security of their countries. Or Trudeau who is now waging a trade war, along with Mexico and China. Or the countries Trump intends to buy.
I doubt it will impress them much.

There are exactly 10 transgender men in all the undergrad sports in the very large and populous USA.

Rula no worries. I always appreciate when someone can acknowledge they made a mistake 😊 Unlike Vance!

Giving Andrew Tate a safe haven shows what he really thinks of women’s rights.

Isn't AT an American citizen.

If so, is it possible for any President to extradite (correct use of word?) him?

He may be obnoxious but it doesn't count against him in this context.😁

I would like to recommend what I think is a real "State of the Union" address today from Bernie Sanders, Independent Senator for Vermont, dissecting Trump's speech.

It's quite long, but the best speech I've heard and seems to be from his heart without the use of a teleprompter or notes. His compassion and knowledge touched me deeply, especially from mins 21.08 to the end.

Bernie is always worth a listen .
He is now touring the US ( between Senate sessions ) having talks like this .
You can also follow him on other social medium sites . He is a measured reasonable statesman of the highest order .
