Inspiring speech from Trump to Congress

I would like to recommend what I think is a real "State of the Union" address today from Bernie Sanders, Independent Senator for Vermont, dissecting Trump's speech.

It's quite long, but the best speech I've heard and seems to be from his heart without the use of a teleprompter or notes. His compassion and knowledge touched me deeply, especially from mins 21.08 to the end.

It’s a fine theory, but on the evidence of the 2024 election, it’s not actually true. Considerably more women voted Democrat, and if men had done the same, the Democrats would have won. One policy does not mean Trump is pro-equality for women, in fact on the evidence so far, that could hardly be further from the truth.

Unfortunately he is the only ticket in town who has even approached the problem of.mem in women's prisons, men in women's sports, and propaganda supporting this message in schools and hospitals.

When did he change his mind Rula ? Because I'm pretty sure the I heard him talk about Greenland in his speech, Saying he would get Greenland one way or another.

He openly said in his state of the union speech he was going to get Greenland, one way or another. How is that changing his mind? And Trudeau didn't start a trade war but is retaliating to Trump's desire to have Canada and his tariffs

tbh I do read posts and wonder if they are bots, then I find the narrative is so confused I think it's just people trying to start arguments for the fun of it.

It never fails to surprise me how terrified some people in the US are of what might have been called the liberal left a few years ago but now is called WOKE. Is a bogey man that for millions of Americans doesn’t adversely affect their lives in any way. But a good smoke screen for a fascist dictator like Trump to hide behind, whose ham fisted policies are already adversely affecting millions of Americans and will continue to do so, as well as adversely affecting many other parts of the world.
Still, at least Trump is doing something about trans men in women’s sports, perhaps we should tell Zelenskyy this or the European leaders worried about the security of their countries. Or Trudeau who is now waging a trade war, along with Mexico and China. Or the countries Trump intends to buy.
I doubt it will impress them much.

Food prices are important. It seems to be one of the reasons Trump was successful.

Perhaps you are unaware the food prices have only become higher under Trump and with his isolationist policies they will only continue to rise .

I do believe the real plan, is the Ben Gurion Canal through Gaza!

The one silver lining is that his voters will be as negatively impacted as everyone else, and they deserve every bit of what’s coming. They are already whinging about many things but too slow to see the correlation. They don’t understand that voting against their own interests—which these billionaires do not share—has real impact. Katek I agree with you completely. The vote - winning removing-transgender- in- sport issue is, like renaming the Gulf of Mexico, a no - cost smoke and mirrors activity.
Neither of these issues will have much bearing on the lives of the citizens of the USA, but will cause lots of excitement and potentially prevent anyone noticing the deaths of women due to decisions to remove their reproductive rights, or that the Tate brothers have been given the right to return to America to continue spouting their hateful message and swerve a trial for shocking crimes.
