Congratulations to Starmer for reminding the world of the UK's military courage.

^One had to be smart, bigly smart to be a spy, and keep one’s mouth shut!^

Oh how the mind boggles! 😂

Indeed 😂😂😂

I can think of some very comedic moments with Trump and Vance as spies, the thought both horrifies and amuses me!

Trump and Vance or rather dumb and dumber would be a terrible choice for spies, but a good choice to act as puppets.
Useful idiots for autocrats like Putin.

I don’t see him as a spy, but a useful person for Putin to have in his pocket. A puppet.

Indeed, as long as it suits Putin!

Well Patriotism can’t be linked to Trump. Not after giving Putin a seat in the Oval Office. Thinking that the ex KGB man was right when he said Trump, was recruited as a spy in 1987. Don’t know about bone spurs but perhaps his brain might be the real problem.

I simply cannot imagine Trump being intelligent enough to be a spy! Or reliable enough.

Many spies are recruited from places like Oxford and Cambridge University.

Honestly I don’t think that they care.

Starmer’s comments were largely for the domestic audience imo.

As soon as we possibly can the U.K. alongside Europe must plough its own furrow - if USA wishes to treat us as allies - personally I would welcome them but with reservation, bearing in mind their unpredictability.

I think the subtlety may elude them

Oreo Thu 06-Mar-25 08:31:44

Am not sure it was all that subtle 😁but good to see him do this.

Vance is an ignorant man who shouldn't be vice president but then look who the president is.
Vance and Musk are very good at shooting their mouths off with incorrect information.

I’ve just seen Kier Starmer in the HofC reading out a list of names of half a dozen soldiers who died in recent wars. Starmer’s way of rebuffing Team Trump and in particular Vance’s crude comments.

Disgusting comment by Vance. How a Vice President could be so ignorant is beyond me. His comments completely erased the dead and injured service personnel from countless countries, including Europe and the UK, as well as further afield, who fought with the US for many years in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Well done Starmer for naming the dead and so shaming Vance. Though I doubt that man ever feels shame.

He's frightened of the novichok- or maybe getting a little push from a window in Trump Tower?

Back to OP- yes, Starmer subtly mentioned the mutual support too when he was in the Oval Office...the US thinks it's impregnable.

When Trump talks about the big ocean, he forgets the slim body of water separating Russia from Alaska...

And Mr Vance might like to query his boss about managing to get out of being drafted into the US army via a medical condition called "Bone Spurs" - and his rich daddy's money alledgedly "buying" a proffessional medic to say so.
So much for Patriotism, Trump-Style.
