Trump. He certainly isn't Joe O'Biden.

...referring to the small staircase on Airforce One..
Biden used the shorter staircase and Trump mocked him for it in 2023:
Former President Donald Trump has mocked President Joe Biden for using the 'children's stairs' to board Air Force One - while prodding the president over photos that showed him napping on the beach while at a Monday rally in New Hampshire.
Now in 2025:
Reddit users claim US President Donald Trump is “not well” and is “trying to hide it” as he uses the short stairs to board an Air Force One jet.

They say we don't have free speech. Maybe they need to take a look at themselves.
I know! the irony! Trump declares that reporters who dont write what he wants are "reporting illegally!"
They say we don't have free speech. Maybe they need to take a look at themselves.
Today’s Daily Pnut take (American publication):
“The Trump administration is pulling another very public political stunt. This time, the White House is flying in the face of the law by deporting over 200 alleged members of a Venezuelan gang known as Tren de Aragua (TdA) despite a judge’s explicit court order blocking the move. The judge’s decision to freeze the deportations was issued on Sunday, but the Trump administration decided to put the TdA members on a plane to a detention center in El Salvador the next day. On Monday, the judge – putting it nicely – gave the Trump White House’s lawyer a stern talking-to, asking, “Why are you showing up today without answers?”
The Trump team’s legal argument was that the judge’s verbal order to freeze the deportations, issued on Saturday, was not legally binding because it wasn’t an official written order. While the judge did issue a written order after that verbal decision, that second order also wasn’t legally binding… because the deportation planes had already taken off by the time it was issued. Additionally, the Trump team is arguing that the judge has no jurisdiction to block the deportations because the president had invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, which grants the executive sweeping powers to deport individuals when the country is facing an “invasion.” The act has only been invoked during wartime, most famously to facilitate the Japanese internment camps during World War II.
In other deportation news, the Trump administration also deported Rasha Alawieh, a physician and Brown University professor, on Friday – the Lebanese-born doctor allegedly attended the funeral of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah last month. Her other crimes include having “sympathetic photos and videos” of Hezbollah leaders on her phone.
This deportation also violated a different judge’s 48-hour freeze on removing Alawieh from the country. While border officials said that the judge's order was issued when the doctor was already aboard a plane out of the U.S., records show that the order was issued 40 minutes before her deportation. In other news, you should probably start getting rid of those Che Guevarra shirts and deleting those Kim Jong Un memes off your phones if you don’t want to get deported.
The Trump administration has promised that more deportation flights are set to take place soon. “Another flight. Another flight every day,” said border czar Tom Homan yesterday.”
They need time, like any other just defeated group with no clear leader yet. The candidates are there, we saw some of them when Biden stepped down. I expect there are meetings to start the process already. But yes, my hopes are the same of course.
I hope you’re right. I also hope the Democrats wake up and find some more impressive candidates

What makes you believe the next Republican candidate will be much more moderate? I’ve seen nothing to indicate that
Because I dont think Trump will succeed in making voter “feel” better off, it’s very early days, what happens in Ukraine and Gaza will have a big affect. If he does not succeed in ending those wars it’s going to be very difficult for Republicans to win next time.

Vance is an aggressive bully. He was the one who started the bullying of Zelensky. Apparently it is very unusual for a vice president to speak when the president is present unless asked to do so. He was acting as president in that case and Trump just followed his lead.
Vance wants to be president.
Yes! I think he’d be far worse and more dangerous than T!

I’m sure Trumps medics will have done all they can to ensure his survival for the presidential term so Vance probably won’t rise to the post.
It will be the Republican Party that choose the next candidate and much more moderate, polititian is likely. As VP Harris had a track record that many hated and Trump won, a more centrist Democrat might have done better but that’s history now.I think it’s strange that all questions about Trump’s fitness for the role were ignored before the election, so we have no idea whether you are correct in assuming that he is passed as fit. Actually I’ve always thought that he could die in office, as he has dreadful habits, is under stress, he’s overweight and elderly, so what could possibly go wrong?
Probably the biggest risk to Trumps health is assassination. I dont understand Republican logic backing Trump, any more than Democrats backing Harris.
Politics is far to polarized in US although I like the country and the people I would t want to live there

Yes Vance wants to be President, sadly a possibility given Trumps age.
I suspect Trump will want Don Jnr or Ivanka as next presidentb
I do think Vance has his sights on the presidency. Trump will be 79 I think this summer and health issues can crop up at that age.
I do wonder about Vance and Musk too Wyllow3.
Its interesting to reflect the difference between Trump's relationship with his first VP, Pence, who apparently was a shadowy "yes" man, but who ended up with the decency to challenge Trump in the Capitol building, beg Trump to intervene, and Trump was quite prepared to sacrifice him.....
and Vance, because I'm actually really not sure that Vance isn't the power behind the throne in many ways.
(I do wonder about the relationship between Vance and Musk - anyone else?)
Another agreement with AGAA4. I was surprised by the way Vance got involved. We aren’t used to vice presidents being so actively involved - never mind so rude
Thats what I was going to say, that it was VP Vance who clearly "Stirred it" with President Zelensky initially then sat back and waited for fireworks (and then added some more in snarkily with the agressive leaning forward and jabbing fingers )

Much as I dislike Trump I prefer him to Vance. As Rosie51 said he is more dangerous.
Does it matter who we prefer? Surely what we need to hope is that the Americans come to want to get rid of these people and support the courts in putting them where many of them belong.
When there are those who hope for Trump's death whether by natural or unnatural means it's always wise to consider the full consequences. Some, including me, think that Vance is an even worse option than Trump. Trump is like a reactive two year old in an adult body, Vance is a bigoted, evil entity in a composed adult body, a much more dangerous combination.
It's a chat forum.
Carry on posting your opinions, AGAA4
