Friends of ours from Françe flew home from Bangkok after a holiday three hours before it hit there, very fortunate.

My previous neighbours have been in Thailand and sending photos on Facebook. I hope that they are ok

Myanmar was enduring a humanitarian crisis anyway since the military takeover but I hope aid will be forthcoming and get to those who need it. It has been difficult to get aid to where it was needed, aid workers threatened with violence, before this new disaster.

A 7.7 magnitude earthquake has hit Myanmar and Thailsnd, the epicentre being near Mandalay. Hundreds are feared dead there and in Bangkok a building under construction has collapsed, where 81 workers are missing.
