It's the gutter press again. Why publish the truth when rubbish like this can be used to stir up trouble. There is absolutely nothing incorrect in what he has done in support of constituents with Mirpuri connections and he most definitely is not wanting the UK taxpayer to fund anything in Pakistan!

I think it’s a bit odd for a British MP to canvass for an airport in Pakistan but how on earth can it be with money from taxpayers here? If that’s the offer, why hasn’t it been grabbed with both hands by the government in Pakistan?

Fake news, then.

Thank you Churchview

Glad we got a sensible perspective here. Don't know OPs intention but it didn't work...

This is a group of MPs who are asking the PM of Pakistan a question about the building of an airport to help make their constituents lives easier. Isn't that what MP's do?

I can't find anywhere that the British taxpayer is being asked to fund the airport. The OP seems to be the only person who has mentioned this.

A quick look at the social media pages of this MP show that over the last few weeks he's done dozens of other things in his local constituency - this has been one meeting and one signed letter in a broad sweep of other work.

Well exactly, keepingquiet

The usual suspects on social media are and regretfully MSM lining the two and predicting the End is Nigh and its all a plot etc etc....

Wyllow3 Sun 30-Mar-25 21:19:43

Actually, its 20 Cross Party parliamentarians pushing for it but its a bizarre request.

keepingquiet Sun 30-Mar-25 21:16:15

The rubbish dispute is nothing to do with the MP but is a council matter. I don't know about the airport thing but for me it doesn't have wings...

Well he's not likely to succeed is he.

I wouldn't be too sure. Pakistan is a 'nuclear' country. With the current state of affairs, you could argue, that there is something to be said about having the country on board.

Seriously though, you must be joking

Absolutely awful

A Birmingham Labour M.P., Tahir Ali is campaigning for a new airport to be built in Pakistan, with British tax payers money, so that people there don’t have to travel 3 hours to get to their nearest one.
Never mind that his constituents are knee high in rubbish and rats……
