Do you want a better understanding of what led up to 7/10 in Gaza

It is an extremely convoluted situation.

Like M0nica I am in the 7th October was inexcusable camp, but I also feel that Israel has gone too far.

I did see a piece on UTube where Israel had bombed a location on Eid (Sunday 30/03) and very brave Palestinian children and teenagers were distraught and blaming Hamas for hiding amongst them?

As Monica says, nothing can justify the attack or the atrocities committed. The people attending the music festival were mainly visitors to the country.
However, I do find it hard to believe that Israeli security had no inkling that something was planned. It would have been very satisfying if they had planted soldiers among the settlers and ambushed the invaders and slaughtered the lot.

Nothing can justify or explain what happened on 7 October.

Nothing can justify or explain the extent of the Israeli reaction.

You’re very brave foxie48so many posters think this is a one sided war.

I will watch but I really struggle seeing people killing each other.

BBC 2 has a new documentary by Norma Percy called Israel and the Palestinians: The Road to 7th October. It uses original footage and interviews with the people central to events in Israel, Palestine and the US. It is certainly not a polarising documentary and I think it should bring people who hold strong views closer together than further apart. I've watched the first two parts of three and it has deepened my understanding of this extremely complex situation. I thoroughly recommend it. I've posted in news and politics because I think it's so appropriate to what is happening now and tbh it is far from being entertaining but it is IMO essential viewing for anyone who wants to try to understand this conflict from both sides.
