Has died, aged 65.

It is sad. I thought he was excellent as Jim Morrison of The Doors. I believe he was a difficult chap to work with but I enjoyed his films

Never watched him don’t like American films but it’s always sad when someone dies fairly young

I think I’ll have to watch Top Gun again, even though I’m not keen on Tom Cruise, but Val Kilmer was very attractive back in the day (weren’t we all!).

I liked Val Kilmer RIP

A sad loss and relatively young.

I remember him as Jim Morrison, I was a big Doors fan in my youth. I also remember him in Batman and TopGun.

I"d read he had throat cancer a while back. He was also married to English actress Joanne Whalley at one time who had played Chrisine Keiller in a film called Scandal.

RIP

Only Val Kilmer could be Iceman & Jim Morrison & make them totally believable. Will be very much missed!

They were both in Willow

Who?

TerriBull Thu 03-Apr-25 16:25:40

Google him, what's the point of coming on a thread such as this with "Who?" confused

Someone posted an absolutely beautiful video montage of him on TikTok yesterday. Not sure if we’re allowed to share things like that here but it really was lovely. It started with him in the months before he died and went backwards to his 20s. If you’re a fan it’s quite moving, I watched it a couple of times and towards the end he gives this smile that really touched my heart and made me smile.

Largely underrated by the establishment, but very much appreciated by audiences. A back catalogue of very varied roles. RIP.

Thought he was very sexy as Iceman. RIP Val

I read that Marlon Brando had said to him “I think you’re confusing your talent with your pay check.” Apparently he was difficult to work with. Easy on the eye though. I wonder why he was called Val. His mother was Swedish apparently, which could explain it. Not quite as bad as a boy named Sue!

My favourite role of his was as Doc Holliday in Tombstone, I watched it just a few weeks ago and was reminded of just how good he could be.
RIP Val Kilmer

Val played a good antagonist opposite Tom Cruise in Top Gun, such a shame his career was cut short RIP

Yes grannydarkhair, he was wonderful as Doc Holliday in Tombstone and in Heat with Robert De Nero.

Bridie22 Fri 04-Apr-25 13:09:29

He was very watchable in The Doors and Top gun films.
