........er, like who?

M0nica

It was a vanity project by a rich business man, who is filthy rich because he is the sort of man to expect his fiancee and her hen night friends to pay for themselves.

Come on M0nica all the ^space tourist women* are rich in their own right, why oh why shouldn’t they pay for themselves.

There's some real sour grapes here.

For a very good reason!!
Marg75.
We want women who do brilliant things that we can relate to.
Not some drippy, pop singer who can't actually sing!, with her flipping stupid hair & a ruddy, limp daisy!!!
God give me strength!.! 😶

What a derogatory summary of a woman who is a best selling pop artist. Entertainment is so important, and she is hugely successful in her career - and she definitely can sing! I always think when people make comments like this, tell us all what amazing achievements you have had in your life that surpass hers then? It’s just sour grapes.

Aldom I agree, an amazing opportunity which is only open to those with a healthy bank balance.

I hope they all enjoyed it.

These ladies were simply passengers on the flight. Just as many of us will have been passengers on aircraft.
No-one expects an airline passenger to be capable of flying the 'plane, or even understanding how aero dynamics work. So why all the negative remarks about a group of people and one woman in particular, who could afford to pay for such an amazing experience?

Marg75 Wed 16-Apr-25 06:57:32

She can actually sing and what's wrong with her hair? Oh dear.

Macadia Wed 16-Apr-25 06:32:50

No, she was only a passenger.

Before yesterday 105 women had been to space. Not a huge number compared to male astronauts (12% of astronauts apparently). All with a job to do.

I don’t understand why yesterday’s space tourists are being talked about as though they are trail blazers.

Yes, we're all envy because we can't afford to go.

I'll just listen to Rocket Man instead 😁

A shame so much was focussed on Katy Perry. I’m sure Lauren Sanchez wouldn’t have liked that. However, despite all this if it shows young girls that they too could do something similar, one day, then all power to them.

Ilovedogs22 Tue 15-Apr-25 19:57:58

Opps sorry
I misquoted you.
I'm a twit 😶

Ilovedogs22 Tue 15-Apr-25 19:54:35

Toetoe

All their fake hair and extensions floating around their heads , why didn't they just tie it back .

"Ms Perry could have just put a helmet on".
Oh no she couldn't do that it would mess-up her fake hair and make-up.
A ridiculous stunt. 🙄

Ilovedogs22 Tue 15-Apr-25 19:19:35

The addition of Katy Perry turned this event into a circus.
Single-handedly Ms Perry managed to undermine the wonderful work real female astrophysicists the world over!
The plastered-on make-up didn't help either, together with the silly daisy twiddling stunt. Ridiculous. 🤔

Marg75 Tue 15-Apr-25 19:11:24

Oh dear were none of you young once? I love young women's long hair these days, I had to fight my Mum all the way when she wanted me to have a perm like her! I love the dress and boots look as well. I wouldn't want to go back, I believe that we all belong in the age we were born in but it doesn't stop me envying them their freedom.

My first thought though was that I try so hard to keep my carbon footprint as low as possible and yet they’d used up more in 11 minutes than I will use in a lifetime.
shock I didn't realise that it was that much Maybee

If I ever get to take another long-haul flight, I'll just think of KP and sing 'A Wonderful World' to the other passengers.
Followed by It's Written in the Stars 🌠

That should offset my carbon footprint (or get me confined to my seat).

“I’ve always been interested in astrophysics and interested in astronomy and astrology and the stars,” (Katy Perry) told the Associated Press.

I wonder if Katy feels the journey has improved her understanding of astrology?

When she returned to earth all she was talking about was love; I mean what was that about? I think it’s a pity that she was given so much coverage when the other women she was with had a scientific background. My first thought though was that I try so hard to keep my carbon footprint as low as possible and yet they’d used up more in 11 minutes than I will use in a lifetime.

Allira Tue 15-Apr-25 17:09:08

Allsorts

She or any of the other passengers are not astronauts, they didn't go high enough, they were controlled from the ground and they wouldn't know one control from the other. they just had a nice ride in a tailored jump suit after having their make up and har done. Too much money and imagination all of them.

One, Aisha Bowe, is a former 'rocket scientist' and an advocate for girls to take STEM subjects. I'd like to hear more from her.

😂😂😂
She confirmed she will be writing a song about the experience. Of course.

The Kardashians are considering going now.

I'd rather hear the views of the scientist on board.
