The link explains the history, the options and the implications.

I also think that a lot of the front bench in Labour are the same about this subject.

And hope that the full force of the law comes down on the perpetrators Galaxy.

The action that is(or is not) taken over this will be a good indicator of what we can expect in future.

I think ‘or not’ is what will happen. In these kind of cases the Met are about as useless as a chocolate teapot.

Frankly if the court of session can make head or tail of the link OP provided they are a gey clever bunch of people, irrespective of sex.

I trust the arguments put forward by the Advocates will be a whole lot clearer.

I do care about women's rights, but I also care about men's rights, and the rights of those who feel they have been born in the wrong kind of body.

There is a huge difference between trans and LGBTQ+ and trans.

Do clarify the difference Mabon and explain how we are supposed to know which is which.

Lathyrus3 Sun 20-Apr-25 14:17:41

What is the difference? Do you mean there are different factions
ie violent -trans

Non-violent -LGBTQ+ and trans

Genuinely don’t understand what you’re saying.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 20-Apr-25 14:11:38

It’s all a real dog’s dinner isn’t it? Is it just the UK? Are we just too liberal?

Cateq Sun 20-Apr-25 14:00:33

I’m afraid this is another fine mess Nicola Sturgeon got us into with her determination that anyone could call themselves a female without the need for any gender reassignment to have taken place

There is a huge difference between trans and LGBTQ+ and trans.

There is a difference between LGB and 'TQ+', but it suited Stonewall to include the T (which is for Trans, so is part of LGBTQ+) as they had achieved their objectives for LGB people, and risked redundancy.

Allira Sun 20-Apr-25 13:48:47

Scrawled on a stayue:

"Trans Rights are Human Rights"
No-one would deny human rights to transgender people, would they?

Women's Rights are Human Rights too.

What is the definition according to Transactivists?

Smileless2012 Sun 20-Apr-25 13:48:18

Sorry mabon I don't understand what point you're making.

Strange and sickening Allira angry.

What a terrifying thought, that being trans provides someone with a 'get out of jail free' card.

I just posted on the other thread:

Strange, isn't it, that the nurse who was subjected to racial hatred was the one who lost her job.

The way they are policed and what happens in court if things get there

A very important consideration.
Will they be taken to court, or will it be ignored to avoid fear of being called transphobic?

Galaxy Sun 20-Apr-25 12:02:24

Yes I agree. As far as I can see online ( not the most reliable source I admit) some reports have been made to the police.

Doodledog Sun 20-Apr-25 11:31:50

Yes, but by 'action' I meant the way they are policed and what happens in court if things get there.

Galaxy Sun 20-Apr-25 11:17:39

Well the protest has already been a good indicator as to which organisations and political parties support misogyny.

It wasn't just defacing statues it was violent threats. I think we just continue to act through the law and report all those instances.

Smileless2012 Sun 20-Apr-25 08:32:40

Any hate and ugliness was in full view during those demonstrations where the statues of women who fought for the rights for women were defaced Syracute.

They are the ones perpetrating hate.

ViceVersa Sun 20-Apr-25 08:07:17

Indeed, where is all this 'hate' that you keep accusing everyone of perpetrating?

Mollygo Sun 20-Apr-25 02:12:43

Syracute

Mollgo it’s extremely RUDE to call me an it as in your comment “itself” just because I have an opposing view . This thread a the other is just an echo chamber for hate and ugliness .

Syracute I find your ability to misspell my name equally rude.
There are opposing points of view, but unless you’re claiming you post with hate, there is no hate and ugliness on either of these threads, except perhaps where people are praising the behaviour of TRA in Parliament Square.
