There's nothing to apologise for Luminance.

Lathyrus3 Thu 17-Apr-25 13:27:42

Please could you post a link to the part of the judgement that says “every trans person must now publicly apologise.”

I can’t seem to see it.

Luminance Thu 17-Apr-25 13:19:21

I think any discrimination and harassment is disgusting and those responsible should be held accountable. I simply don't believe members of that group should apologise for it. If I did, I would be apologising for comments like the one on page 2 here but I believe the individual who said it should be the one to apologise and no one else.

Your response to Luminance

^ If all your arguments fail, make something up.^

is so much better and more accurate than mine.
Thanks.

The Daily Telegraph had easily the best front page in the world, about this. Strong and clear. 'Trans women are not women.'
👏

I see this is far from over and more excuses are needed. Now every trans person whether involved in what went on or not must publicly apologise. Do we put them in stocks while they do it?

You’re the one making the weird suggestions, so you’re obviously not on the side of the trans who have suffered from the actions of their noisy and violent counterparts.

Some of us have frequently expressed concern about the unnoticed or I wouldn’t have known trans.

Luminance Thu 17-Apr-25 13:08:52

Well, there we have it.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 17-Apr-25 13:05:15

It's not yet over. No doubt we'll have men, aggrieved that their fantasy is at an end, still pushing at the boundaries, but at least we have legal clarity now.

And trans people (well the noisy activists) can stop pushing their agenda.

You only believe in freedom of expression for people who agree with you? I suppose I was aware of that but you seem not to be.

I’m in exalted company with the judges of the Supreme Court.
Common sense eh?

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 17-Apr-25 13:01:22

Now get Stonewall out of every public and corporate organisation.
They are poison.

Mollygo Thu 17-Apr-25 13:01:17

Where are trans people supposed to come out and publicly condemn people? What an odd thing to say.

Well they and their TRA have had no problem coming out threatening and condemning females, so why should that suddenly be a problem?
What an odd thing for you to say, Luminance. Have you not noticed that happening?

Julie Bindel:

“But men who identify as women have felt it necessary to bully their way into our changing rooms, sports, prison wings, and domestic violence and rape crisis centres. It is now time to stop. We have had enough. The women have revolted, and the end of a destructive era is now in sight.

I personally hope to never have to utter the words “gender identity” again, and to go back to dedicating 100 per cent of my campaigning time to fighting the male violence that is still so prevalent today.”

I have been following this whole debate with considerable interest from some time now, and what has struck me has been the abuse and threats from the very vocal trans activities - who, ironically, are usually the first to be asking everyone else to 'be kind' to them.
No-one is stopping them from advocating for their own facilities, their own safe spaces and so on - but it has become very apparent that what some of them want is to instead trample all over women's rights to have their own safe, single sex spaces. Well, no more...

Not going to happen.
What will a new agenda look like?
Maybe pushing for their own safe spaces, their own sports competitions, admitting they’re trans so there’s no confusion about medical treatment, stop expecting others to lie.
How about coming out and publicly condemning all those trans and TRA who have caused the damage to all trans by their actions, or have threatened death or physical harm to females for speaking the truth.

JK Rowling has lived with abuse and threat from TR As for stating that Transwomen are not women and they say they want to live without harassment and intimidation!

Yes but they don’t see the irony in that.

Luminance Thu 17-Apr-25 12:36:57

ViceVersa quite right.

Everyone has a right to live free from harassment and intimidation, that includes trans people.

And this ruling does absolutely nothing to take away that right.

It took three extraordinary, tenacious Scottish women with an army behind them to get this case heard by the Supreme Court and, in winning, they’ve protected the rights of women and girls across the UK. @ForWomenScot, I’m so proud to know you 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
