Well, at least it's a baby with a face!
Congratulations.

I would have thought the greatest fear of getting old was becoming patronising smile

So sad that this thread started off with a happy announcement of a new baby for Boris and Carrie, but quickly deteriorated into ‘I hate Boris’ .
I sincerely hope Carrie doesn’t read Gransnet because if she does, her happiness will be diluted by the nastiness shown by some people on here.
Why can’t people ever be pleased for others? They must lead very sad lives if all they want to do is make others unhappy.
I wish every happiness to the Johnson family. The baby looks beautiful.

God some people are such miseries. A happy family, a new baby, a joyous event. Why drone on about previous mistakes. They’ve all moved on and so should the sourpusses on here.

Like Ive said before, our greatest fear of getting old should be the fear of becoming unpleasant and grumpy. I see a lot of that as people age. Maybe they were always that way?

Congratulations to the relieved mum that she made it to the other side and to the darling little soul that was born into the family.

Churchview Boris is not his father and hopefully won't become like him.

I wish the latest Johnson tribe and their parents well. I’m surprised by the number of posters who state the children will be loved and well brought up. Little evidence that Mr Johnson was a reliable or even regularly present father to his earlier children

Hopefully at 60 he will have settled down. Some men having been womanisers all their adult lives become doting husbands and fathers in their later years.
For his present family I hope this will happen.

His father was accused of inappropriately touching a woman at the Conservative Party Conference in 2003 (he was 63) and another woman at the 2019 Conference (when he was aged 79).

There’s another thread all about new parents banning GP’s from seeing baby for the first couple of weeks.

I assume Carrie and Boris don’t subscribe to that point of view, as they are happy to share these pictures with the wider public.

Good for them, not like these silly, entitled new parents.

But seeing as it’s baby number 4, not new parents either, I suppose.

I think Carrie will do a great job a parenting and will ensure what Johnson does, or doesn’t do, she’ll ensure her babies are well taken care of and much loved.

So you feel it is your right to judge him, do you, MOnica?
No longer a public figure. Not your business.

I am as free as anyone to reach conclusions on the evidence presented.

There is no such thing as being non-judgmental, just people not realising that no matter how understanding they may be, that understanding is still driven by their prejudices.

stand haha not sand

Agreed, but that was a result of him never being able to get away with anything😁

Fair enough!

Still can’t sand him haha But have nothing against his wives or children

He got away with things for far too long. Even as foreign secretary he was a loose cannon.

Magenta8
He lost his job as PM remember? He never got away with anything at all.

But not as a result of any covid rules broken, but because his own party tired of him!

Must also say, as well of the cuteness of the baby that Carrie looks amazingly good.

She certainly does! She’ll certainly have her hands full, but they have a libel home and gardens and have no doubt these children will be well loved and brought up equally well.

My comment was to Casdon and concerned the negative comments not the many congratulatory ones.Hope that clears up your concerns.

LizzieDrip Mon 26-May-25 12:35:37

I have read the whole thread and the views are simply resentment about Johnson wrapped up in either a ‘save the planet’ message ( silly enough in this country) or a bit of outrage at his morals.Other feelings popping through are envy of wealth, dislike of Tories and privileged lives and whether Carrie is a good enough Catholic

Well, Oreo, we must be reading different threads! The majority of posts are welcoming of the birth, congratulatory etc.

Perhaps re-read🤷‍♀️

AGAA4 Mon 26-May-25 12:22:04

I think Carrie well knows her own husband and what others think of him. Maybe she doesn't care about the opinions of people she doesn't know.

Oreo Mon 26-May-25 12:21:40

Casdon

You are entitled to your opinion about what others say Oreo, but it does you no favours to assign a malign motive to others just because you don’t agree with them.

It’s an opinions forum and thems me opinions.I don’t give a hoot about favours. The resentment on the thread shines out loud and clear.Btw I don’t like anything about Boris Johnson but don’t condemn him for fathering a child with his wife.

Oreo Mon 26-May-25 12:18:34

People will criticise Johnson's way of life. He is a libertine and as he has been PM it will cause judgemental views but I haven't seen anyone say anything nasty about the baby.
Many have wished her well.

Of course nobody has said anything nasty about the baby as who on earth would?
It’s the parents being castigated and sadly for Carrie, whatever is thought about Boris.

M0nica Mon 26-May-25 12:08:41

Give Boris another 10 years, if he is still married and faithful to his current wife, then I will sing his virtues as a committed father and husband.

We can only judge people on their track record and his is not good.
