Was watching the early earlier news and it seems they’ve had a major fallout..re ?Tesla and according to Musk he states Trump was involved with Epstein allegedly…this world gets crazier by the day…

M0nica it's pretty appalling isn't it? We seem to live in a world where we create and celebrate monsters, where it's OK to have a complete lack of empathy as long as you have money and if you have money it's never enough unless you have power. And these vile people are supported by the very people who should hate everything they stand for. I quietly despair.

How the mighty have fallen, and I mean the USA, as a nation. Once upon a time it was a colossus that strode the world, everyone listened and those who didn't were still scared

Then in two successive elections the American people elect Presidents who are cognitively challenged, one from each main party. one made the country look weak, the second has made the country a laughing stock. As for this playground scrap between two of the boys in year 1. One has ruined his country, the other ruined his company

Even Putin has got bored with playing silly games with a country that is a busted flush and is turning his eyes to foes more up to his weight. Unfortunately he sees the UK as being the nearest thing to a world class country. I suppose we should take it as a compliment (I think President Macron, rather fancid the role), but it is a compliment I had rather the Uk was not paid.

Maremia

Wonder which of the two of them holds the best cards?
Popping over to see how CNN is covering the spat.

POTUS lives for spats, it seems.

He apparently is in a spat with Bruce Springsteen, no reason.

Reading that Musk wants to start a new Centre party.

Two questions,

Will the fact that he wasn’t born in the USA prevent him from doing this

Who would be likely to join?

Mind you I don’t think this will materialise - Musk will run out of enthusiasm I think.

Any citizen can start a political party and run for office. Doesn't matter if they started as an immigrant or not.

Only a natural born citizen can hold the Presidency.

The world's most powerful man sparring with the world's richest man........but there's not much chance of them growing up.

The rumour's of President Trump's mental instability are gaining more ground too.

might not be real they have played withpeople for 10yrs
it called theater
make the america free from both and dj v too

Still not talking to each other. Apparently, it was the Epstein remark that made the biggest hit.
How would Musk know anything about that ? Oh, could it be from one of the DOGE hackers he has put in place?

Trump holds the cards in my view.

Also given the fact that he has been supporting the Nazis in Germany, this is quite a Damascene transformation😄😄

Trump seems to have led a charmed life......so far.

A photo of Trump with Epstein will cause him problems. Prince Andrew was very damaged by his association with him.

Trump has been photographed with Epstein countless times. Never hurt him yet. Sadly.

Delila Fri 06-Jun-25 14:14:13

I don’t think it’s suspected of being fake news, but the suggestion is that it’s a fake “spat”. They’re both capable. However, haven’t heard anything since.

AGAA4 Fri 06-Jun-25 14:11:07

Musk doesn't want to lead the Democrats. He can't anyway but he can give a lot of money to help them win as he did for Trump.
Maybe this playground tiff will blow over.

foxie48 Fri 06-Jun-25 13:54:50

Nope not fake news but both Trump and Musk seem to want to stop this, both have much to lose by continuing.

Delila Fri 06-Jun-25 13:29:22

I heard briefly on a BBC R4 news bulletin this morning that it’s now being claimed that this “spat” is fake. Fake lies, fake truth, or alternative facts, who knows?

Grandmabatty Fri 06-Jun-25 13:06:17

Musk isn't American though but South African, so wouldn't be eligible

Bea65 Fri 06-Jun-25 12:35:55

The X comments really schoolboy spats...very bad dialogue for a President ...but as someone mentioned, DT is uber coated in Teflon...

Whitewavemark2 Fri 06-Jun-25 10:26:55

Perhaps this has the potential to cause a massive bang in the GOP?

That would be brilliant. Depending of course who came out as the next leader.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 06-Jun-25 10:22:04

He was a democrat at one time I believe.

Democrats would loose all integrity if they had him as leader imo.

AGAA4 Fri 06-Jun-25 10:18:40

Musk is saying he will use his vast fortune to fight against Trump in the next elections. Democrats are not saying much at the moment.

Elegran Fri 06-Jun-25 10:16:17

It may all be about to hit the fan - Musk is calling for Trump's impeachment. He has already said that Trump features in Epstein's lists.

I have long wondered whether it is no co-incidence that so many of Trump's appointees have histories of dodgy sexual histories and violence. Birds of a feather flock together.

Curlywhirly Fri 06-Jun-25 09:26:35

Well that bromance didn't last long did it? It was only matter of time before their egos got the better of them. Just hope this is the beginning of the downfall of Trump.

Elegran Fri 06-Jun-25 09:17:23

NotSpaghetti

Saw this last night.
Dare I hope it's the end of DOGE and might (possibly) somehow help Ukraine....?

It isn't the end of DOGE. Peter Thiel may be about to become its head and oversee a digitised amalgamation of that and other databases into a dossier on every detail of every US citizen. He is another billionaire (he donated 1.5 of his billions to J D Vance's campaign fund for election to the Senate) and an associate of Musk and co.)
