I am in Paris, so I am not caught up. But looks like the US is at war with Iran now.

So much for being the President of Peace.

Trump has brokered a ceasefire between the two countries which I hope will hold.

I am seeing his lawless behavior trickle down to his supporters too. He pardoned racist, bigot criminals and put them to work for the government.

This is a coup, there are no laws.

I dread leaving Paris tomorrow and going home.

He also bombed Iran without Congressional approval.

He is rounding up migrants and not giving them Due Process.

He has violated most of our rights.

He doesn't care about the laws.

Isn't it a National Park or protected area?

What has that got to do with it. Trump!s wishes are above the law...

He is demonstrating that steadfastly ignoring any law he doesn't like, and being surrounded by picked officials who are prepared to ignore the law, too, nothing can touch him. Nothing at all.

There isn't any meaningful fight back from the Democrats. So, no barriers..

It is being called Alligator Alcatraz.

It's got a whole Concentration Camp vibe to it sadly. Especially since the people they have been detaining seem to disappear without a trace.

Is that mental, or a stroke of genius?
If he wants the Prize, he will have to solve the Israeli/Iranian war.

DD told me that one of her colleagues was talking to a colleague at Harvard. She said her post grad students are now refusing to drive anywhere because they are so frightened of getting stopped on any pretext. And there's no question of them crossing the border in case they aren't allowed back. This is HARVARD! The Americans used to be proud of the number of foreign students queueing up to go there!

In 1986, then POTUS called for an air strike against Tripoli and Benghazi. As some European countries wouldn't allow over flights, the bombers, small planes, tankers staged out of Fairford,Lakenheath, and Upper Heyford.

Perhaps the navy had some boats off shore as well.

I wondered if POTUS needed permission to use Fairford.

I expect trump will leave early.

NATO summit in the Netherlands from June 24th. I imagine lot of this could be discussed.
It's within the 'two weeks' grace granted by Trump.

Trump has approved the plan to attack Iran but so far has done nothing. He hasn't asked permission from the UK to use their base at Diego Garcia to attack Iran which they would have expected.

Would he need permission to use Fairford?

Fairford is used as a transit and training base for US heavy bombers and used by U2 spy planes continually, who knows where to, probably mostly Europe, plenty of information on aircraft using Fairford online. There doesn’t appear to be any weapon storage areas at Fairford, Lakenheath is much more significant as are the bases in Spain and Italy.
Fairford is a reserve base and hosts the annual Air Tattoo due in 4 weeks, highly unlikely to be used in any Iran action. If the US needs a base for B2 bombers closer to Iran it will be Diego Garcia, for a short campaign the B2 is easily capable of reaching Iran from the US there is no need.
