My conspiracy theory senses led me to watch this interview with Andrew Lansley, who has just published an apparently well researched book about Prince Andrew, another Epstein associate. If you scroll to just before half way through the interview he did with Times Radio today, and listen to the Epstein actions in filming and passing intelligence about guests on, your toes will no doubt curl as mine did.

It looks like Trump now has his Stormtroopers (Stoßtruppen)
(594 Posts)Just watching what happened in down-town Los Angeles yesterday as ICE, ATF and others conducted raids against immigrants and others.
The Los Angeles citizens protested through the night against the military-style raises. In a statement from Kathryn Barger, a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, she says:
I am aware of today's DHS ICE enforcement actions that took place in Los Angeles. At this time, my office is actively monitoring the situation. While I fully support the enforcement of our nation’s laws, I also believe it is essential that actions taken by federal agencies are conducted with transparency, fairness, and respect for the rights and dignity of all individuals. My priority remains the safety and well-being of all residents of Los Angeles County.
I need to research the Epstein files denial, haven't read to much about it.
Crime in DC is at a 30 year low.
I was listening today about Ukraine and the way Trump has treated the supply of equipment, Zelenskii etc.
Someone suggested that he is behaving like he is for a few reasons amongst which is his admiration of Putin, but primarily it is as revenge for Zelenskii not playing ball over Biden’s son.
I think that is spot on.

I have just read another post by her (yes she is a woman, not an esquire) on whether he can take over Washington DC law enforcement.
"Can he do it? Yes, but only for 30 days unless Congress authorizes it for a longer period of time.
Can he do it to other cities like he has threatened to? No.
Why is he doing it? Because he's a bully who needs to show off his power, and distract people from Epstein. He's like the abusive father who beats his kid on the front porch so that all the neighbours see how big and strong and powerful he is. It's what those kind of men do when they are feeling impotent. And he's impotent with Putin. He's impotent with jobs and the economy. He's impotent with Epstein.
Here's the longer version:
First, Washington D.C. is not a state, it's a Federal district (the D.C. stands for "District of Columbia").
Until 1973 Washington D.C. had NO autonomy at all, it was completely under Federal control. In 1973 an act called the Home Rule Act was passed because even Nixon realized that it was ridiculous that this city had zero autonomy. Among other things the Home Rule Act allowed the residents of Washington D.C. to have a mayor and a city council for the first time ever. In 1973! That's in my and a lot of your lifetime!
Now get this: Washington D.C.'s sole representative in Congress does not get to vote on things, it's like auditing Congress. And Congress has the ultimate authority over Washington D.C. Yeah, it's really messed up.
But it's the ONLY location in the continental U.S. that is a Federal district, and not a state. So it is the ONLY place that Trump can pull this stunt. Yes, he's threatening to do it to other cities, BECAUSE HE WANTS YOU STRESSED AND SCARED AND CONFUSED, AND HE'S BANKING ON YOU NOT KNOWING THAT HE CAN'T DO IT!
Anne P. Mitchell, Esq. on Facebook is putting transcripts of various documents onto a subscribed page, but some things are also on a public page. Below is a copy/paste of one of those public pages today. It only quotes a part of the document, but the subscribed members ($5 a month) can see the whole of each of the documents she (he? esq. ?) posts.
9h · . READ THE VICTIM LETTERS WHICH THE JUDGE CONSIDERED WHEN DECIDING WHETHER TO RELEASE THE GHISLAINE MAXWELL GRAND JURY TESTIMONY IN THE EPSTEIN INVESTIGATION .
Here, as promised for Notes to the Front members, is the PDF of the actual victim letters which Judge Engelmayer took into account when making his decision as to whether to release the testimony from the Ghislaine Maxwell grand jury. (I actually had to go through it and do additional redactions of names in addition to the ones already done by the Court.) As I mentioned in my last post about this, in large part Judge Engelmayer declined to release the testimony because - and this is important - there is nothing in that testimony which hadn’t already been revealed during the trial.
In fact, in his opinion and order Judge Engelmayer calls out the administration for exactly that, and for falsely raising the expectations and hopes of the victims that there might be something new in there when the administration knew darned well that there wasn’t (otherwise they would never have called for the release of the grand jury testimony - again, one of the prime directives of litigation is “never ask a question for which you don’t already know the answer”).
Said the Judge, “The victims’ interest in reviewing the grand jury materials appears to be premised on the understandable but mistaken belief that these materials would reveal new information. The Government had, after all, publicly portrayed these as critical pieces of an important moment in our nation's history. Had the Government's motion made clear that these records are redundant of the evidence at Maxwell’s public trial, the victims responses to the motion to unseal might well have been different."
I love seeing smack-downs like this from the Courts, as its evidence that more and more judges are getting more and more fed up with the administration’s shenanigans.
This entire thing was a big act to both attempt to assuage Trump’s base, and to distract from the demands for the Epstein files being made both by Congressional representatives and FOIA lawsuits (both of which I’ve covered before).
That said, while the grand jury testimony was not going to reveal anything new, the letters from the victims and their representatives that were sent to the Court for the Court to consider when deciding whether to release the grand jury testimony do reveal quite a bit.
Personally I found one of the letters written by one of the victims to be especially poignant. In it she laments:
“Will justice ever be served? I question what that would look like to the DOJ, the FBI, because so far we have got nothing, not even an apology, not even the answers we so long for. We all want closure and for this "distraction" to stop! This is some type ofpsychological games, by keeping the public ignorant. The very fact that something is secret means there is something to hide.”
^If you are a paid Notes from the Front member, the PDF of all the letters is here: annepmitchell.substack.com/.../here-are-the...^
As I mentioned in an earlier post, the reason that I don't share things like this in public, and instead make them available only to paid members, are a few-fold. For one, it keeps the trolls away. Trolls don't pay, not even just $5 a month. They move on. For another, it helps to keep the information only to people who genuinely want it for their own information and knowledge, and not to share around to places that lead to my getting vilified over it. Yes, again it's only $5 a month, but it's enough to keep them from grabbing the information, twisting it into a knot, and turning it against good people.
Again, if you’re already a paid Notes from the Front member, the letters are at the link above (and also directly in your inbox if you were already a member at the time that I sent it out). And if you’re not already a paid member, now’s a great time to join. :~) Which you can do here:

He wants them on site ready for the trouble when the Epstein file are opened and his name is publicly announced - the last straw that ought to ignite and trigger his removal. He will be holed up in the White House with plenty of burgers and Koolaid and a bodyguard of MAGA loyalists, claiming to be the heroic victim of a plot by Obama and Biden to frame him.
The judge refusing to open them is another delaying tactic.
If the Epstein files say that all he did on the island was watch Disney films and solve jigsaws with the young people, why is so terrified at the thought of it all going public?
I think you’re spot on, and whatever he does, I don’t think Trump is going to succeed in suppressing the further information coming out about his Epstein involvement - the more he tries to, the more bloody it will be ultimately.
Thanks for that - must look at that later.
My head spins with all the information.
Just listening about Palantir and Peter Tier (sp) 🤔
More on U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer' s refusal, dated later yesterday - U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer
I'm not sure whether his motives are for or against Trump. He was an Obama appointment, not a Trump one.
The only thing on that refusal I can find which may refer to the refusal you mention is - edition.cnn.com/2025/08/11/politics/epstein-files-judge-ruling-grand-jury-materials
" Indeed, the judge suggests there is basically one good reason to potentially release the documents: to show the public just what a smokescreen this was. (Trump's administration pushing so hard for release of the files)
“The one colorable argument under that doctrine for unsealing in this case, in fact, is that doing so would expose as disingenuous the Government’s public explanations for moving to unseal,” he wrote.
It’s a stunning rebuke of the administration that comes at an inauspicious time.
He wants the National Guard there, I mean.

I saw a quick headline yesterday but didn’t follow it up.
A judge has refused to open the Epstein files.
Is that correct?

The National Guard is getting ready to deploy in Washington DC. He has said the homeless need to move out.
I can't figure out the reasoning for this. Some suggest it is to stop the riots they are anticipating soon. But I see nothing in planning for protests.
Not sure how this helps his regime. I am sure a reason will come out soon enough.
Read Letter from America (Heather Cox Richardson) this morning. Trump is saying it’s to rescue the capital from crime! Look to me far more like a coup d’etat! The USA is becoming more sinister daily.
Sooner or later Starmer and crew (no longer Labour at all imo) will have to stop sitting on the fence and recognise what is happening in the USA. No longer the land of the free!
He has taken control of their local Police Force too. This can't be for good reasons.
One of his latest executive orders allows forced institutionalization
This is about something else though I think. Why would he need a military force in Washington DC? The only thing I can think of is that he is anticipating an attack.
Guess this proves he can actually send the National Guard into DC after he said he can't on Jan 6th.
From the little of the rubbish he was spouting that I could bear to listen to today, he seems to think the homeless are all criminals and foreign to boot.

I guess the experts weren't making things up or being doomsday like when they predicted this very thing to happen. Another instance of his base literally being out of touch with the reality of not having migrant workers.
Our food costs have already increased the last 3 months and it is going to get worse in the fall.
Crops are being left to rot on the fields because there are no workers to pick it.

They are just starting to wake up to the troubles they have gotten themselves into as they are not getting FEMA dollars after all the recent weather related activity around the country (major flooding and fires), are losing health care and jobs after seeing their student loan payments skyrocket because he stopped the Biden program designed to help keep repayments low.
They are having to spend more time getting kids to and from school because busses are being cut and more money for their kids to participate in extracurriculars.
In a district nearby me that overwhelmingly voted Republican at every election, parents are having to pay up to $7 a day for bus service to school already. Voters there refused the last 2 bond measures to raise money for the District, so they set themselves up for what is about to happen now that Trump is refusing to disburse millions of dollars to school districts all over the country.
Their own family members are being deported and every day I see posts online of Trump voters shocked and mad that they supported him and he snatched their family. The most common refrain I hear is that they didn't think Trump's policies would affect them.
We can't get out of this without them though, as they vote and are heavily armed, so all the rest of us can do is remain steady in giving them the truth as they wake up.
A bit of interesting information regarding the jobs numbers report (the one he fired because he didn't like the numbers in her report. He said she giving out fake, politically motivated numbers).
Looks like the previous months numbers were corrected from initial reporting.
I am sure there is more to this story and I will look forward to it coming out eventually. Why was there such a huge discrepancy in the previous numbers? Trump used these numbers to inflate the economy outlook. His followers lapped it up like kittens at milk too. Despite warnings from economists, experts and every day people trying to get by, MAGA believes he was helping the economy because the numbers (and he) said so.
I was amused at a video of Nebraska voters at a Republican town hall recently. They have lost their only nearby medical center due to Medicaid cuts and one of them asked the Rep why we didn't have Medicare for All (an NHS type system). He said that the US can't afford it and got booed and heckled. Hopefully this momentum of wanting liberal policies because they are getting hurt by Trump policies continue into 2026.
The Constitution of the United States, which was removed from websites back in January, has been returned to its place missing entire sections. Either they think we are too stupid to see the change or they assume we won't do anything about it. Probably a little of both.

I saw that. I would like to think NASA won't destroy a satellite, I don't think that is true any longer. He fires anyone who doesn't give him exactly what he wants (I'm looking at you bad job numbers person), so I think he would find someone to do it. At the very least, the soulless (in my opinion) Steven Miller will go and push the destroy button. That man is an bottomless pit of evil and would probably love the chance to kill as many as he could.
The US is like some kind of over exaggerated cartoon villain right now. Seriously, I feel like I am reading a fictional dystopian novel. And not only are the Republicans not doing anything to stop it, they are doing everything in their power to make it worse.
At least the Republicans who are doing town balls are getting humiliated by their constituents. Even the ones that voted for them.
Now Trumps is ordering NASA to shut down satellites collecting climate change data.
Not only does he want to destroy the US, he wants to destroy the world

Trump is certainly full steam ahead to authoritarianism.
So , gerrymandering is one clue, as is the sacking of the statistician which reflects so many similar actions in other authoritarian states.
Thank you, I'maround Your link was very helpful, and there was a news item about it on the BBC this morning.

We did have a case years ago in Westminster borough I think it was. A lady called Shirley Porter was found guilty of “disgraceful gerrymandering” and fined a massive amount. I think she fled to Israel.
I’m not aware of out and out gerrymandering recently in the U.K.
