Starmer v Badenoch at PMQ’s yesterday

I watched it for a few minutes, but Badenoch was living up (or down) to her usual performance, where she invariably gets it incorrect and never really hits the target.

She will not be leading them into the next election, that is quite clear.

It's a pleasure to hear her speaking even if I don't always agree with what she says. She speaks clearly and is obviously highly intelligent and articulate. Starmer, on the other hand, has got nothing going for him at all.

I'm afraid it makes me feel like vomiting when I hear Badenoch's arrogant, sneery, dismissive voice. Having heard her speak twice live without a script, it is quite obvious that she is far from intelligent and doesn't bother to research her facts. To Starmer, she is the gift that keeps on giving. I bet he can't believe his luck that he has such incompetent opposition.

Kemi described him as 'all puffed up and self righteous' which I thought summed up Starmer exactly. What an awful man he is.

How childish and unprofessional!

I don’t think Badenoch is that serious about her position in the Conservative Party. Isn’t it more of a filler for the next two years or so? I don’t see Badenoch as leader in the run up to the next election which feels a very long way off.

Here's Ms Badenoch in 2020 at the hospital in her constituency which she doesn't know exists!

I wonder if Badenoch has any idea what the NHS arrangements are for her constituency.

I find Badenoch insufferably arrogant and can barely stand to watch her.

Starmer is right about there being two hospitals in her constituency. Why does Badenoch think there is only one?

Starmer goes into Gordon Brown mode early on listening the achievements. Reminded me of this from 15 years ago:

I kept my eye on Mel Stride. He has his eye on Badenoch's job.

There most certainly are two hospitals in her constituency, but I'm not surprised she doesn't know. She's never here and doesn't know much about the constituency or people who live here. She owes Starmer an apology.

I think the first two posts sort of "say it all" from the two sides. Its like reading the Guardian then the Mail and Express

btw, of todays newspapers I recommend the Financial Times, it summarises the economic balance spending/borrowing probably income tax (? cant think of others)

the Government is trying to do

and the opposing "shock horror taxes"

in a moderate way from both sides.

IMO:

I did think one thing especially - how Starmer has really grown into the role - his command of facts. and figures is impressive he just reels them off with a new confidence.

Badenoch does not seem very states-person like but trying to play "catch him out"

handy repeat of PMQ's

The Conservatives should have chosen Mel Stride to lead the party imo. I didn’t watch PMQT; I’ll check it out. Going off at a tangent here but, having watched some of Sky News today ( and the news in general since Labour came to power) I’m sure the news media never scrutinised everything that the Conservatives did so thoroughly…and they don’t seem to scrutinise everything that Reform say or do either. But perhaps I’m just being biased?

Well I like her. She is a breath of fresh air. I do not like Starmer at all and every time he opens his mouth it makes me want to scream. Thank goodness he is not my PM.

Well, what is your take?

(Is a “u turn” OK as it does give whats needed - or to be criticised for flipping?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6M25Klnodo

8 minutes you need to watch it all

I find Badenoch trying to catch him out, but doesn’t manage…what she doesn’t say, is how Labour was left with the crisis in prisons, in the NHS, in schools, in housing…

Gets interesting at 6.20 onwards as moves to foreign affairs..
