let’s hope Starmer resigns when the whole truth comes out and shows just how much he knew about what was going on. Most of the towns where this abuse went on are Labour towns and he didn’t want to upset the Muslim voters.

It’s not thin evidence though is it, it’s evidence you’re deliberately choosing to ignore, for whatever reason.
So not just weird, dangerous.
But thankfully you weren’t carrying out the investigation.

It's overworking evidence and what that I've gang I heard about and was on the tv, did to children in a children's home who didn't know what a hug was and starved of affection. I wish they could have the death penalty. Have an enquiry but only if it brings change. The full weight of the law should be bought on anyone involved in these crimes,
Children shouldn't be in home where no one knows where a 10 yr old is for days, how can no one hug a child in a safe environment and yet let them run feral.They need investigating and closed,

Overwhelming evidence not overworked

I have been watching the interviews of some of the brave poor girls who were groomed.

It is utterly heartbreaking, the authorities who blamed them for prostitution and inciting sexual activity need to hang their heads in shame.

Unfortunately, a child can prostitute his or her self, that is, offer (someone) sexual activity in exchange for payment.

A school caretaker was suspected of interfering with girls, aged 10-13, and a police camera was set up in his room to record what happened. The dreadful thing was that the girls initiated the activities, offering touching and seeing activities in return for sweets, then money, then threats. The worst thing was that the parents when informed, had to watch the film of their daughters' behaviour.
The caretaker was prosecuted and imprisoned and his behaviour was appalling, but the term 'prostitute herself' can be correct. These children are vulnerable and need protecting against themselves.

What a shameful post.

Whilst the perpetrators are being dealt with, whichever “group” they seem to come from and however difficult it is, there’s a great need for this action.

And to find ways of spreading awareness and support to the most vulnerable as how not to get involved?

Since I was a child myself, we were warned about not going anywhere with strangers.
I’ve taught primary for years about stranger danger, e.g. who is a stranger?

Or the danger of prominent names on children’s clothes because some children think if the person knows their name, they must be OK.
Or the danger of being lured away by your mum sent me to pick you up from school.

What sort of education is there for older children who are the victims of grooming gangs, especially with the added danger of the use of mobile phones.
Should older children, whether at home, in homes or at school, be warned about accepting offers from strangers, what the offers might constitute, and the possible repercussions of that?

Would it help to hear from victims, how the grooming started?
They talk about the groomers initially being kind, offering them affection, or sometimes even gifts.
How could it be done without too much graphic detail?
Whilst I don’t think it would stop the grooming, it would help children at a vulnerable stage to see how it could happen and perhaps help to protect them from the danger.

For goodness sake. I merely think that any investigation needs to be comprehensive, not just specific to one group. A national inquiry into one particular of an endemic problem will be less valid and applicable than one which covers a wider range of offenders.

We would be wise to remember that since time began, men have been sexually abusing children. Female sex offenders are more rare and usually operate with a man. Why are so many adults sexually attracted to children, infants and babies ?

For me, the collection of all data known about grooming rings/gangs is vital. However, it must be made crystal clear that these awful men represent a very small percentage of their culture/faith/nationality.

These are evil sick people who need to be found and stopped.

As for attributing any blame to Starmer whilst he was heading up the CPS, perhaps those feeling this way should research a little further where they will find Starmer was instrumental in setting up victim support initiatives, after all, let’s not ever forget, the victims are the most important part of these inquiries.

The grooming at times was insidious, girls reeled in by Asian boys in their peer group before being passed on to older men.

The grooming was covered up for so long under the false premise of the fear of accusations of racism in a climate of political correctness, which would seem racist in itself in a scenario of one race targeting white, indigenous and vulnerable as they deem them infererior. Appallingly not only were the girls, deemed infererior by the abusers but also by the police, there to protect? but no they also deemed actual children some sort of sub human species not worthy of that protection. The children were feckless and cupable for all the horrors they had inflicted on them. Imagine that situation in reverse and then ponder as to it being covered up for so long, and allowed to continue. Even now the apologists' constant assertions, grooming and child sexual abuse can happen in any demographic, of course we all know that, there was a mass jailing of such white perpetrators in Glasgow recently. Deviant priests, vicars, school masters no doubt all white, abuse in children's homes on and on.....but ad infinitum this aside is dragged up to detract from the fact that in so many instances Pakistanis gangs have on an industrial scale abused young white girls and they were allowed to continue along those lines for so long. So now we have it a veritable tinder box, when potential flashpoints stir up the simmering discontent, often misplaced in threatening lynch mob behaviour and stirred up by agiatators threatening to light the touch point. This blame should be placed with successive governments and their appalling lack of tackling uncomfortable truths head on.

Louise Casey seems to have done a good audit and I’m pleased Starmer responded positively and quickly.

How Badenoch and co have the brass neck to shout U-turn etc is behind me. Their party sat on the 200 recommendations and implemented one. Their austerity programme destroyed support services for children and families. Specialist police and other essential services diminished so enabling these disgusting gangs to operate

Casdon...this inquiry is into Asian grooming gangs and the evidence isn't thin....it's been brushed under the carpet for years. I hope we found out why and if it's because people were afraid to speak out because of being called racist then that's terrible. In fact the unpalatable truth is Tommy Robinson was one of the first people to speak about the Asian grooming gangs.

Have you read anything from the Casey report? She finds that Asian ethnicity and British Pakistani heritage men are disproportionately involved in child sex grooming gangs and that it needs to be addressed as such with no fear or favour.
Rotheram being just one such a case.
From now on police will be required to state the ethnicity of perpetrators and it should have been that way all along.

If the recomendations are implemented, with adequate resources and staffing, then young people will become more safe from ALL grooming gangs regardless of shape, size, colour and gender.

A young woman on BBC news yesterday said she had been abused since she was 13 by Pakistani men. They had been kind to her at first giving her sweets and other presents.Later she was driven round from town to town to have sex with different men.
She said she had spoken about what was happening to her on numerous occasions to different authorities but nothing was done.
The abuse stopped when she was 18 presumably too old for these deviant men.
Children have to always be listened to and reports of abuse followed up and acted upon but whether this will happen remains to be seen.

The young women coming forward are incredibly brave. They have not only had sexual damage but invalidation and abandonment by people who should have helped, often ongoing for years. The trauma is immense. My heart goes out to them, and I hope they're able to make something of their lives and go forward with hope and optimism.

The Liverpool region is the most solidly Labour area in the country. Seven of the safest Labour seats are in the Liverpool City region.

The Liverpool region has the oldest black and Chinese communities in the country. Its Asian/Asian British community (excluding Chinese) is less than 4%, so the correlation between Labour and Muslim isn't strong.

There are many other Labour seats, including Ipswich, Weston-super-Mare, Lowestoft, Hartlepool and many more, which have low Asian/British populations.

It's insulting to Asian/British Asian people to think they didn't want a thorough investigation. A minority is giving the whole ethnic group a bad name.

I know I’m not the only one remembering previous threads on this subject who were called racist for using the Asian/Pakistani/Muslim words in relation to this.
Those contributors are noticeable by their absence on this thread.

They have to get this right. Stop "kicking the can down the road" otherwise Farage will walk into No 10.
