Whitewave suggestion that those who refer to asylum seekers as illegals, are often older and less educated has I believe been born out by research. I’m older and less well educated than some gransnetters but I see people as asylum seekers not illegals, until proved to have no right to be here, when I’d like to see them returned to their country of origin -

What makes you think that you are better educated than those of us that worry about the number of undocumented illegal (mostly young men) immigrants arriving on our shores. It should be a big issue for everyone and it certainly will be if it continues year on year out

That's refreshingly good to hear Allira, but I feel for those Afghan translators and others, who put themselves and their families into the firing line by working with the Allies. They should have been fast tracked out.
