No other country! Macron told Starmer we are too soft on migrants. They live in tents in France but get comfy hotels here. No wonder they want to come here.

A couple of years ago a hotel owner in Skegness refused the £500.000 enticement from the Government to house migrants. He said that post Covid, when they were struggling to get on their feet, local people supported them by booking functions, eating in the restaurant and having drinks in the bar. He was not prepared to cancel wedding receptions etc just to house migrants. Good for him. I daresay £500,000 would have been a lifeline for him but he has scruples. We need more like him.

Genuine asylum seekers follow the process. Rubber boat people do not therefore are not asylum seekers.

Regardless of their title I am not particularly happy with large amounts of single males being allowed into the country. I am pretty sure I am not alone in thinking this.

If that’s the case, not use hotels, why now have they taken over the Britannia hotel in London? According to one bloke this morning, turned up for his stay that was booked, was turned away! Apparently they are still taking bookings!
I’ve stayed at that hotel in the 2000s, it was a lovely hotel from what I can remember.

This morning I was looking at short breaks to London after getting an e mail from the travel company. They use a hotel at Canary Wharf. Then the same hotel is in the headlines for accommodating illegal immigrants and yes the travel company are taking bookings. I’ve contacted them and are awaiting a reply.

The government is planning g to move them into empty housing around the country. Starmer says there are plenty of empty houses so there might be some near you. This has already happened in Ireland.

If there are so many empty houses which can be used for asylum seekers, why can’t they be used for people from this country who are living in B&B Accommodation, single mums with children etc?

Home Office statistics show that 75% of 'illegal' immigrants are successful in their asylum claims.

We certainly need to stop pre-loading cards with £50 a week ‘for essentials’. The irregular migrants are already being housed, fed and watered. We are too soft. Macron was right about the pull factor. Apparently some migrants are using their cards for gambling. Utterly ridiculous how stupid we are.

So where else are we going put them then in their large numbers? If it can't be in old barracks, or on barges, or in hotels, what is left?

It is Government policy to end the use of hotels to house asylum seekers. Obviously this is not working.

They presumably arrived illegally and then sought asylum. Illegal immigrants, probably about 1 million people, have probably disappeared and are not housed in hotels.
