I mean it's not either or just because a minority of one demographic behave in an awful manner it doesn't mean we don't recognise the appalling behaviour committed by those who are Britons, such as the rable who threatened to torch hotels. Let me stress how awful I found them in their murderous intent. Lynch mob mentality is abhorrent to me. Nevertheless if asylum seekers want sanctuary here or anywhere else , why would they break the law. When those that commit serious crimes it makes me doubt they are really fleeing danger. Surely they would do their upmost to prove they would be potentially good citizens and respect their host country and its citizens.

Yes she is, very much so and can I also add very fed up with the anti social hoardes of predominantly white people who descend on Bournemouth and behave very badly. It's a perfect storm of all manner of anti social behaviour driving people's concerns along.

I would have thought before she was appointed she would have gone through some sort of rigorous interview. What she has done is not illegal, but surely as a landlord she hardly demonstrated the right sort of ethos as to prospective legislation regarding the hiking of rent, do such people think their hypocrisy will not be exposed? As for Mr Mouldy, Multiple Flats who is a self styled "rental champion" allegedly or that's how he defines himself. God help his tenants, his flats were or maybe still are also infested with ants. What annoys me so much is that as a landlord of one flat, we have always endeavoured to comply with everything, inspections, getting the right safety certificates in place, fixing problems, whilst an MP who should lead by example, does the complete opposite and them claims he didn't know

As for the new initiative regarding the one in one out, I will wait to see how that pans out, I do think there will be lawyers waiting in the wings to possibly appeal those deportations. I guess it will become clearer further down the line. The friend I spoke to lives in Bournemouth where there are concerns, at the moment a migrant with settled status stands accused of raping a young woman in a public toilet and that case is awaiting trial. The Bournemouth friend has a cynical attitude towards successive governments and as to how they are handling the migrant crisis, Bournemouth has been accommodating them back before Labour got in, and there have been problems!

Of course they do. The issue in her case was that was the Minister for Homelessness and is responsible for enforcing an Act which will outlaw the practice in which she, herself, engaged.

She's a disgrace, and I'm very glad that she is gone, but I do agree with growstuff about the accountability of our politicians.
I was sad to read in TerriBulls post that a potentially good initiative for tackling undocumented arrivals has already been dismissed by her friends.
It's hard to see what any government can do to satisfy those who know absolutely that any plans will fail, even before they have started.

As for the insider knowledge about people smugglers which your friend seems to have, I suggest s/he contacts the police. Over 90 cases are currently being actively investigated and I'm sure the police/NCA would be grateful for any insider information.

Do you mean politicians? No, they're not, even if some might think they are. In some other countries in the world, she would have carried on, probably with public knowledge. The fact that she's resigned proves that she knew she'd be pushed because politicians do have to follow certain codes of conduct (even if she didn't break the law).
