‘Palestine Action’ marchers - arrests today.

Vandalism of RAF planes is not enough of an explanation.

I think you need to read up on what else they have done and who they are.

As has been said already, there are other protest marches these people could join.

I agree - and that is politics, always tied up with economic reasons and the threat of 'withholding intelligence' etc. Look at our closeness to other countries like Saudi and the USA.

Not sure I recall a government just driven by morality - sadly the voters often think 'taxes' before morals.

Genocide is happening in Gaza, it's wrong and it needs people to show the government how they feel.

Not sure our government(s) (of any party) has shared enough about why Palestine Action is proscribed. Vandalism of RAF planes is not enough of an explanation. Nowadays CND would have been proscribed!

That is not a horrible sentiment, it's just common sense.

I thought we had stopped supplying arms to Israel? I am appalled if this isn't the case.
I'll write to my MP if we still are, marches seem to be futile as marchers get labelled as troublemakers and ignored.

Why can't we have a big "Not in my name" march like there was when Tony Blair helped Bush invade Iraq? I know the country isn't a direct combatant this time, but we're doing precious little to rein Israel in or influence the USA's pro-Israel viewpoint.

But how is it that the mob of hundreds of people demonstrating outside Nuneaton Town Hall - organised by the extremist nationalist group Homeland party, whose activists unfurled a banner reading “Remigration NOW”, referring to the mass deportation of immigrants and those born in the UK with heritage from overseas is not a prescribed group? They spread racial hatred and Nazi imagery could be seen on T-shirts worn by a handful of people.

What a contrast to people holding a peaceful protest holding a piece of paper.

RAF planes delivered aid to Gaza.

By carrying out criminal damage, not just this, but in other instances, they lose any sympathy they might gain and simply antagonise people - their message is just lost because of the methods they employ.

These protestors think that genocide is wrong and so should we all…….But our government is still supplying arms and support to Israel.
The majority of comments on this thread remind me why I rarely bother with GN these days.

It was a waste of police hours , if one protester had slipped when being carried the=police officers would have been suspended immediately.

The majority of the protesters wanted to show solidarity with Palestine. They want to wake up the country to the atrocities committed by the Israeli Government in Gaza.
I wish they would have just held up signs "I support Palestine", the effect would be the same without expensive arrests and detentions etc. Better still. I wish our government would declare itself in support of Palestine and there would be no need to protest.

Surely Netanyahu's plan to "encourage" migration of the Gazans to other countries will exacerbate the issue of migration rather than reduce it? Gazans want to stay in Gaza they don't want to become refugees.

In regard to Stephen Kapos, it’s the “an 87 year old” that I think is demeaning.

If an 87 year olds actions are to be regarded as relevant as a 27 year old then they must receive the same attention. Otherwise it belittles them as if they don’t count.

For me it would have been far worse to have been disregarded because I was old and therefore irrelevant.

I think the action of Palestinian Protestors was ill advised due to those that caused all the damage to the planes, a disgusting and futile act. I hope they feel the full weight of the law, it’s a crime against this country and do not want them here.
The right to peaceful protest however should never be taken away.

It made our evening news which is pretty rare. We don’t hear much about Europe usually, more Asia and America. I have to subscribe to the Times and various free British channels which are not mainstream here. I think, for once, the government has done the right thing. Hope it is a turning point for them.
